Build reliable, resilient cloud platforms that keep critical financial services running.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Site Reliability and DevOps Engineer to join the SRE team within our growing Corporate Action Processing group. You will bring 3+ years of relevant technology experience, including strong AWS and DevOps expertise, alongside an analytical approach to identifying issues and driving them through to resolution.

This is a hands-on engineering role spanning both Site Reliability Engineering and DevOps. On the SRE side, you will help ensure services remain available, reliable and stable as changes, upgrades and new functionality are introduced. On the DevOps side, you will help evolve the platform through new technology, automation and engineering improvements.

As the team continues to expand globally, you will play an important role in supporting its success while taking ownership of solutions from design through to operation.

What You'll Do
  • Proactively identify operational, performance, security and availability constraints and bottlenecks, recommending and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with engineering teams to support onboarding, advocate for engineering best practices, troubleshoot platform outages and develop improvement actions that strengthen service reliability.
  • Support application teams in delivering highly available and reliable services, including participation in 24x7 on-call production support.
  • Manage and maintain CI pipelines within GitLab, deployments to AWS through Jenkins, and infrastructure through code, while helping progress delivery towards continuous deployment.
  • Work with engineering teams to design, build, implement and support platform solutions using AWS and other cloud technologies, taking ownership from design through to operation.

What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of relevant technology experience, including at least 3 years working with AWS and practical knowledge of services such as EC2, Auto Scaling Groups (ASG), S3 and RDS.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code, preferably Terraform and CloudFormation, together with infrastructure configuration tools such as Chef.
  • Working knowledge of Git, including branching models and merge strategies, and experience supporting CI/CD engineering practices.
  • Working knowledge of PowerShell/PowerShell Core for automation and the ability to apply automation to improve operational efficiency and platform consistency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate across engineering teams to identify issues, support resolution and improve platform reliability.

Bonus Points For
  • Experience working with additional AWS services including ECS, EKS, API Gateway and Lambda.
  • Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux administration.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring technologies including Datadog, Splunk and Application Performance Monitoring (APM), including dashboarding.

Benefits

We offer a competitive, people-first benefits package designed to support every aspect of your life:
  • Comprehensive Benefits Coverage - 100% company-paid health, life, and disability insurance effective from Day 1 of employment.
  • Retirement Savings Program - Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with the option of receiving a matching employer contribution.
  • Virtual Health Care & EFAP - Company-paid virtual health care and Employee & Family Assistance Program support for employees and their dependents/partners.
  • Family & Wellness Support - Enhanced parental leave benefits from Day 1, a company-sponsored new parent gift, and fitness reimbursement to support health and well-being.
  • Career Development - A Business Coach from Day 1, providing personalized one-on-one coaching to support career growth, accelerate development, and help achieve your professional goals at Capco.
