Full Job Description
Be a part of a team supporting the Navy's BBGN Program. Strategic Insight, Ltd. is seeking a Mid-level Ship Design Management Analyst with Navy acquisition and design experience to support the Navy's Future Guided Missile Battleship (BBGN) Design project. Job location is SE DC.

The new acquisition program will leverage the DDG 51 Flight III combat system while identifying and evaluating the integration of non-developmental mechanical and electrical systems into a new or modified hull design, incorporating platform flexibility and growth opportunities to meet future Fleet requirements.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of the technical and design process support for ship capabilities, requirements, design development, systems engineering, and systems integration.
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical reports, memos, and issue papers.
  • Assist in the development of PowerPoint presentations.
  • Conduct Navy program-related research as directed by staff.
  • Assist in the Drafting, editing, and proofreading of documents and correspondence.
  • Assist in correspondence management.
  • Assist in task management, schedule planning & program integration, and design management consultation
  • Assist in monitoring the status of technical and performance requirements for BBGN programs and support all pre- and post-requirements and actions.
  • Assist with development of design schedules and program roadmaps and plans to meet BBGN program goals and objectives.
  • Assist in identifying and monitoring technical and program risk areas and developing risk management efforts to reduce the risks to acceptable levels.
  • Assess and provide information on new and existing policies and procedures, and assist in the development, review, and updating of standard operating procedure documentation.
  • Assist in the use of digital strategies and technology to create or modify existing business processes, systems, and operations.

Success for working in this position requires:
  • Understanding of ship design or acquisition preferred
  • Understanding of data management / digital transformation desired -
  • Familiarity with SharePoint and Integrated Data Environments (IDEs) is preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy in completing assignments, including proofreading, grammar, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work with others at all levels, especially as team lead.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), to include the ability to create spreadsheets, presentations, and prepare specialized reports.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Ability to work with sensitive and confidential information.
  • Self-starter, goal-oriented individual who provides timely feedback on progress made on assignments.
  • Excellent organizational skills: ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple tasks, handle complex assignments, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Education and Experience
  • 5years of related experience.
  • Experience with DoD and/or Department of the Navy required.

Mandatory Requirement: Applicants selected for this position must have a security clearance and are subject to a Government Security Investigation and must meet eligibility for a government security clearance at the Secret level.
