ServiceNow Platform Architect

The ServiceNow Platform Architect is a technical leader who provides consultative leadership to the Platform Support Team, assures platform alignment to business strategy, and governance decisions. The Architect documents the platform, analyzes impacts of new requirements, and provides controls to ensure the correct technical solutions are leveraged in the delivery of business solutions. Overall, the ServiceNow Platform Architect has strong technical abilities, a sound understanding of business strategy and policies that govern the ServiceNow platform, and possesses advanced ServiceNow knowledge and skill.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities for the ServiceNow Platform Architect can vary, but includes:
  • Creates and maintains a detailed view of existing architecture
  • Aligns ServiceNow platform capabilities to business strategy and ServiceNow roadmap
  • Leads the Platform Support Team in implementation of technical good practices, policies and procedures
  • Provides architectural controls and analysis of impacts for new requirements
  • Identifies opportunities to combine similar solution needs
  • Provides leadership and participates in implementing new requirements on the ServiceNow platform
  • Contributes to governance processes
  • Stays current on ServiceNow products and applicable integrated technologies

Experience
  • 3+ years overall experience as a ServiceNow Platform Architect
  • Experience with database design schemas and data modeling
  • Requirements-gathering experience
  • Strong ability to align and document business process and requirements with a technical implementation
  • Experience with middleware and discovery technologies
  • Direct experience implementing the following:
    • IT Service Management (Incident, Problem, Change, Service Catalog)
    • Strategic Portfolio Management - Project and Demand Management
    • IT Operations Management (Discovery, Event, Service Mapping)
    • Customer Service Management

Education / Certification / Training
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math or related (equivalent experience considered)
  • Candidates with relevant certifications are preferred, including but not limited to the following:
    • Certified System Administrator
    • Certified Application Developer
    • CIS - IT Service Management
    • CIS - Customer Service Management
    • CIS - Project Portfolio Management
