Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Senior Test Engineer with expertise in systems level test planning and execution, including the design, development, analysis, documentation, and support of testing of complex products, systems or subsystems. This position is based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility and will have the option to work an in person or hybrid schedule. The candidate must have the ability to determine how to create a process that would best test a product in order to assure that the product meets applicable requirements and specifications. The selected candidate will work with other engineering disciplines and use their test engineering expertise to verify various systems and subsystems across multiple technology areas. This role has minimal to no software scope.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems (with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and/or software components).
  • Determine how to create processes to best test a product in order to assure that the product meets applicable requirements and specifications.
  • Lead the design and development of test programs to measure the functionality and integrity of products and services.
  • Write test plans and procedures to evaluate the ability of products to meet performance standards and specifications.
  • Troubleshoot test hardware.
  • Design and setup instrumentation for measuring test parameters, e.g. strain, pressure, acceleration, temperature, etc.
  • Analyze measurement data to verify performance criteria.
  • Provide budget, cost and schedule inputs for assignments and proposals.
  • Be able to work independently, regularly reporting progress and status.
  • Arrange scheduling and costs for offsite testing of hardware at off-site facilities.
  • Responsible for completion of activities on time and budget.
  • Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel.
  • May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software to design vibration fixtures, design test cells and layouts, and design support equipment to conduct testing.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings.
  • Lead less-experienced engineers.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of test engineering experience or similar.
  • Systems Hardware testing experience.
  • Understanding and ability to design and perform product environmental testing based on the requirements provided in MIL STD 810G or MIL STD 461E or equivalent.
  • Experience with precision test, measurement devices, and sensor selection.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work well in a team environment as well as independently with little day-to-day guidance.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products.
  • Fluency in technologies and application domain
  • Ability to lead a technical group independently
  • Travel is required (10-15%).

The salary range for this position is $93,121.00/year - $125,713.00/year for the state of Illinois . This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate's qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
