Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in program management on technical cross-functional projects.
  • 7 years of experience in leadership roles with/without direct reports.

Preferred qualifications:
  • 8 years of experience leading large-scale complex programs, including across multiple geographies and time zones.
  • Good understanding of large language models, with knowledge of multi-turn conversations or model behaviour and other alignment related topics in machine learning.
  • Demonstrated success in fast-moving program execution and deliveries.
  • Possess excellent communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to various audiences, including executive leadership.
  • Passionate about behavior, have a curious mindset to understand and explore how our users engage with Gemini models.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

As a Senior Technical Program Manager, you will cover a critical area of Gemini's style, tone, personality and quality, we call this area model behavior. You will work with a virtual team of contributors across Mountain View, New York, London, and Zurich, ensuring they can deliver on time for the next Gemini release. In this role, you will have a high tolerance for ambiguity inherent in AI research and operates at a fast pace. You will be a highly organized individual who thrives at managing complex stakeholder relationships and connecting teams across DeepMind to drive successful outcomes.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $300000 - $333000 (USD) 25% bonus target equity benefits
