What you'll be doing- Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs.
- Lead projects and efforts to develop and maintain local and cloud infrastructure using infrastructure as code philosophy.
- Lead efforts to further automate cloud and local infrastructure operations with tools.
- Help build and integrate security as part of the infrastructure.
- Architect and maintain Roku's codified next-generation cloud infrastructure, working with technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Take the lead on other important infrastructure projects, with the support and collaboration of the team.
- Take the lead efforts to implement new technologies and best practices etc.
- Take the lead and mentor other members of the team to define and adopt new or improve existing processes and procedures.
You are required to have- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- 5 years of progressive experience in the position, or in a related occupation.
Must have at least 1 year of prior work experience in the following:
- Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure tools to enable automation and streamline infrastructure management.
- At least one high-level scripting language.
- Architecting, maintaining, and coding next-generation cloud infrastructure, working with the following technologies: Docker, Kubernetes and Terraform.
- Using project management tools Jira and version control system Git.
- Utilizing observability and monitoring tools Prometheus and Grafana to ensure system health, optimize performance, and facilitate efficient troubleshooting.
- At least one cloud technology from the following: AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Designing, developing, testing, and deploying applications.
- Software development life cycle and quality control practices.
Up to one day per week telecommuting may be permitted.
For California Only - The annual salary for this position is between $351,900 - $527,000.
Compensation packages are based on factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, certifications, and specific geographical location.
