Position Overview

Cumulus Media | (Atlanta) has an immediate, fully remote (US-based) opening for an experienced Lead Developer to own the technical direction, architecture, and development of our digital commerce platforms, including Sweet Deals, affiliate marketplaces, auctions, and internal administration systems. The Lead Developer serves as the primary technical expert for our PHP/Laravel ecosystem, working closely with business stakeholders, internal teams, and external development partners to design, build, maintain, and enhance scalable web applications, APIs, integrations, and operational tools.

This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership and is responsible for ensuring code quality, system stability, security, performance, and long-term platform scalability.

Key Responsibilities & Qualifications

RESPONSABILITIES:

Technical Leadership
  • Serve as the technical lead for all incentRev software platforms.
  • Define and maintain development standards, coding and DevOps practices; and architecture guidelines.
  • Review technical designs and implementation approaches.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to internal and external developers.
  • Lead technical planning for new initiatives and platform enhancements.

Software Development
  • Design, develop, and maintain applications using hands-on coding via PHP & Laravel.
  • Build and support RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
  • Develop and maintain database structures, queries, and optimization strategies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex application issues.
  • Implement scalable solutions that support future growth.

Platform Management
  • Oversee system performance, uptime, and reliability.
  • Monitor application health and address technical debt.
  • Maintain security and data protection standards.
  • Support deployment processes and release management.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.

Integration & Automation
  • Design and maintain integrations between internal systems and third-party platforms.
  • Support API connections with vendors, partners, payment processors, CRM systems, marketing tools, and customer service platforms.
  • Develop workflow automation to improve operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate new technologies and integration opportunities.

Collaboration
  • Work directly with business leaders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in project planning, prioritization, and estimation.
  • Coordinate with product owners, operations, customer service, marketing, and external vendors.
  • Provide technical recommendations that balance business goals, cost, and development efforts.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong experience with PHP and the Laravel framework.
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
  • Strong understanding of relational databases, including MySQL.
  • Experience with Git and source control best practices.
  • Experience troubleshooting production applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Laravel Sanctum, queues, scheduling, and background jobs.
  • Experience designing scalable application architectures.
  • Experience with cloud-hosted environments.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
  • Experience with payment processing integrations.
  • Experience working with distributed or outsourced development teams.
  • Experience supporting e-commerce, marketplace, advertising, or promotional platforms.

Pay Range

USD $104,000.00 - USD $130,000.00 /Yr.
