U.S. Bank is seeking a Senior Software Asset Management Analyst to manage a portfolio of enterprise software publishers within our Software Asset Management organization. This individual will be responsible for software licensing, compliance, entitlement management, consumption analysis, forecasting, optimization, and lifecycle management in a large, complex technology environment.
This person will serve as a senior Software Asset Management practitioner for assigned software publishers and partner closely with technology owners, Product Owners, engineering teams, IT Asset Management Operations, governance teams, and software vendors. The successful candidate will use ServiceNow SAM Pro and other data sources to evaluate software license positions, remediate compliance risks, improve utilization, support audits and renewals, and identify opportunities to reduce cost.
Main Responsibilities:- Own the end-to-end software asset lifecycle of assigned enterprise software portfolios.
- Monitor software entitlements, inventory, deployment, and consumption to maintain accurate licensing positions.
- Identify and remediate software compliance gaps, overdeployment risks, underutilized licenses, and data discrepancies.
- Analyze software usage and provide recommendations related to compliance, forecasting, renewals, optimization, and cost control.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned software publishers and advise stakeholders on licensing requirements and best practices.
- Partner with technical owners, Product Owners, engineering teams, operations teams, governance partners, finance teams, and software vendors.
- Support software audits, risk assessments, control activities, and regulatory requirements.
- Lead or participate in software rationalization, optimization, renewal, and end-of-life initiatives.
- Investigate and resolve entitlement, inventory, consumption, and software asset data quality issues.
- Collaborate with operational teams responsible for software requests, purchasing, provisioning, inventory management, and retirement.
- Improve SAM processes, tooling, documentation, controls, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in enterprise initiatives affecting software licensing, asset management, or entitlement tracking.
- Provide reporting and analysis to technology leaders and other key stakeholders.
Must Have Skills:- 5+ years of IT Asset Management experience in a large or complex enterprise environment.
- 3+ years of direct Software Asset Management experience.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Pro.
- Strong understanding of software licensing, compliance, entitlements, consumption, and software asset lifecycle management.
- Experience managing or supporting enterprise software publisher portfolios.
- Experience identifying and remediating software licensing and compliance risks.
- Experience reconciling software entitlement, inventory, and consumption data.
- Experience supporting software governance, audit, risk, or control activities.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with technical owners, engineering teams, Product Owners, operational teams, and vendors.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and drive work across cross-functional teams.
Nice to Have Skills:- Experience managing Microsoft, Oracle, or IBM software portfolios.
- Experience with IBM sub-capacity licensing.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Azure, Copilot, or Power Platform licensing.
- ServiceNow SAM Pro implementation, configuration, or enhancement experience.
- Experience developing or improving ITAM or SAM processes and standard operating procedures.
- Experience working with Hardware Asset Management or CMDB teams.
- Experience supporting enterprise software audits and renewal negotiations.
- Project management or cross-functional initiative leadership experience.
- Financial services or another highly regulated industry background.
Basic Qualifications- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
- At least 5 years experience with the processes, tools and guidelines for overseeing and optimizing the costs and revenues for IT services.
- At least 5 years experience with management approaches, tools, and techniques for managing IT assets.
- At least 5 years experience within a total Information Technology (IT) environment.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $98,175.00 - $115,500.00
