Position Summary: The Senior Sales Manager proactively solicits and manages large group and catering opportunities to maximize revenue. This role ensures seamless and timely event turnover while building strong customer relationships, delivering exceptional service, and creating memorable experiences that drive loyalty and future business.
Specifically, this role is primarily responsible for the following, including but not limited to,
Business Development & Revenue Generation - Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve assigned revenue, room night, and profitability goals.
- Prospect, solicit, negotiate, and close new business opportunities within assigned market segments.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through outbound sales efforts, networking, client appointments, and industry engagement.
- Maximize revenue opportunities across guestrooms, events meeting space, including the Graffiti Bar & Restaurant and Limestone rooftop bar, VIP special events, catering, and hotel offerings.
- Using market data and hotel performance to identify target accounts and develop strategies to drive new and repeat business.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and demand generators to identify opportunities.
Client Relationship Management - Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, meeting planners, third-party partners, and community organizations.
- Conduct impactful hotel tours and presentations showcasing the unique offerings of Cambria Hotel Austin Downtown.
- Manage the sales process from initial inquiry through execution while ensuring exceptional client service.
- Drive repeat business through proactive account management and relationship building.
Sales Operations & Collaboration - Respond to leads and RFPs promptly while maintaining outstanding customer service standards.
- Prepare proposals, contracts, presentations, and sales materials.
- Maintain accurate client information, activities, and forecasts within sales systems.
- Participate in sales meetings, revenue strategy discussions, and performance reviews.
- Partner with Revenue Management, Event Planning, Operations, and Marketing teams to maximize opportunities and deliver successful events.
- Serve as a senior sales resource by sharing market insights and supporting team success.

Requirements - Minimum 5 years of verifiable hotel sales experience, preferably in an upscale, branded or lifestyle, full-service hotel, which includes a minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership role; additional experience in a Marketing leadership role is a plus.
- Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing, with clients and team members in the English language.
- Proven success consistently, month-after-month, meeting sales goals and driving revenue growth.
- Ability to understand booking patterns, trends, high demand times, and events in the market to identify revenue opportunities to meet sales goals and objectives.
- Ability to communicate, present, negotiate, and network effectively with customers and staff interdepartmentally.
- Strong knowledge of local VIP events, group sales, corporate accounts, and thorough up-to-date knowledge of the Austin market and sales trends.
- Excellent organization and time management skills with attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously under pressure.
- Experience with Delphi FDC, CVENT, Knowland, and Microsoft Office preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of all MS Office applications, Google Search, Digital Graphics, and networking online applications.
- Flexibility to work outside traditional hours to attend hotel, industry, client, and community events as necessary, including travel if needed.
Education - High school diploma or GED
- Bachelor's degree in hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
