Position Summary We are seeking an experienced
Senior Release Engineer to lead software release planning, CI/CD pipeline operations, and DevOps support within a cloud-based environment. This role is responsible for coordinating application releases across development, QA, infrastructure, product, and business teams while ensuring reliable, efficient, and timely deployments. The ideal candidate will also provide DevOps support and possess extensive experience with AWS cloud services, CI/CD automation, Agile methodologies, and enterprise release management best practices.
Required Education & Experience - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional IT experience.
- At least 10 years of experience in release engineering, release management, or software delivery management.
- Minimum 7 years of experience working with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps tools and technologies.
Key Responsibilities - Monitor and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure successful software builds and deployments.
- Develop, coordinate, and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and production release plans.
- Coordinate release activities with Development, Quality Assurance, Infrastructure, Product Management, and Business stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot and resolve build, deployment, and release issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Define release scope, feature sets, deployment schedules, and release readiness.
- Prepare and maintain release documentation, deployment records, and implementation plans.
- Serve as a secondary DevOps resource supporting cloud infrastructure and deployment automation.
- Collaborate closely with Scrum Masters and engineering teams throughout Agile development cycles.
- Facilitate Scrum of Scrums meetings and manage release cadence across multiple Agile teams.
- Execute production releases while ensuring compliance with release governance and change management processes.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on deployment automation, operational efficiency, and release quality.
Required Technical Skills - 10+ years of experience in release engineering, release management, or software delivery.
- 7+ years of experience with:
- CI/CD pipelines
- Git version control
- DevOps tools and technologies
- Strong proficiency in Python programming.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated deployment pipelines.
- Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams throughout the release lifecycle.
