POSITION SUMMARY
Are you an experienced leader with a passion for managing complex projects and driving results? Urban One is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to lead and deliver innovative projects while setting new standards in quality and excellence.
As a Senior Project Manager, you'll take ownership of all aspects of project management, from planning and scheduling to resource allocation, budgeting, and quality control. You'll play a critical role in ensuring compliance with Urban One's Quality Management Program while fostering a culture of safety and success.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Champion health, safety, and environmental protection, ensuring compliance with Urban One's Safety Program and surpassing industry standards.
- Develop and monitor project budgets, review trade billing, and oversee cost allocations.
- Create and maintain construction schedules in collaboration with project teams to meet critical milestones.
- Ensure projects are completed to approved specifications, building codes, and Urban One's quality standards.
- Maintain, track and report all financial aspects of projects including cost projections and billings.
- Tendering, negotiations, and preparation of trade contracts and purchase agreements.
- Monitor construction progress, manage schedules and budgets, and address cost or delay claims as needed.
- Build strong relationships with clients, architects, consultants, trade partners, and public officials.
- Inspire and guide your team, leveraging individual and group strengths for successful project delivery.
- Ensure smooth project closeout and timely occupancy.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Architecture, Building Technology, or Construction Management.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the construction industry, including at least 5 years as a Project Manager or similar role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing diverse construction projects.
- Strong technical understanding of construction methods and planning
- PMP designation, LEED AP or Gold Seal accreditation (an asset).
- Must have strong English (reading, writing, speaking) communication skills
