The PMO group in Lam Research's Global Information Systems (Lam IT or Lam GIS) team is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to support AI programs for Lam's Global Operations (GOPs) organization with significant engagement across GOPs, enterprise AI (EAI), Information Security, IT data lake and IT enterprise applications (technology) teams. This role will drive planning, execution, program / project governance, and assist with benefits realization for AI/ML/Agentic Automation based capability deployments.

The successful candidate will partner across multiple groups, towers, and geographies to translate AI opportunities into well-structured programs / projects with clear scope, measurable outcomes, practical delivery plans, risk controls, and leadership visibility. This role requires strong program management discipline, communication, executive presence, perseverance, with an ability to operate effectively in a fast-evolving AI environment.

What you'll do

  • Lead AI programs and related projects across enterprise applications, data analytics, infrastructure, and information security domains.
  • Partner with the BRM and business unit stakeholders to clarify business outcomes and manage project cadence through the program / project lifecycle.
  • Develop program charters, project definitions, scope, success metrics, cost estimates, schedules, resource plans, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Own & drive various project enablement activities across multiple internal functions, e.g., IT - Infrastructure, Data and Applications; Information Security; Ethics & Compliance, Indirect Procurement, etc.
  • Coordinate AI solution delivery with product owners, architects, data teams, application teams, InfoSec, infrastructure, vendors, and business units.
  • Drive execution using rapid build and deployment cycles prevalent in AI deployments. Define and execute sprint planning, milestone reviews, steering updates, and decision forums as needed.
  • Manage dependencies, risks, issues, assumptions, decisions, change requests, and escalation paths across multiple concurrent AI initiatives.
  • Proactively ensure data readiness, data access, security, privacy, compliance, model / solution validation, operational support, and release readiness considerations.
  • For prioritized initiatives, establish lightweight governance mechanisms for program / project delivery health, risk review, value realization, and post-implementation support.
  • Track adoption and value realization, including usage, productivity impact, stakeholder feedback, process improvement, and benefits against approved success measures.
  • Prepare concise executive-level communications, including status dashboards, roadmap updates, risk summaries, decision requests, and portfolio-level progress reporting.
  • Facilitate partner delivery execution and third-party coordination for AI tools, platforms, and implementation partners.
  • Identify project management improvement opportunities and help mature repeatable delivery patterns, templates, playbooks, and operating models for AI initiatives.
  • Resolve most conflicts between timeline, budget, and scope independently; escalate, as-needed, complex issues early to IT PMO and BU stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and structured problem solving in ambiguous, fast-changing environments where business, technology, and governance evolve quickly.


Who we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline with 12+ years of experience; or Master's degree with 8+ years' experience; or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of IT experience, including at least 3+ years successfully leading complex AI deployment projects or programs across diverse business and technology teams.
  • Strong program / project management experience with enterprise applications, infrastructure, information security, data analytics, automation, or AI-enabled initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders, vendors, budgets, schedules, resources, risks, and executive communications concurrently.
  • Experience with SDLC, Agile, Scrum, waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies; ability to tailor governance to the size and risk profile of the initiative.
  • Working knowledge of AI / generative AI concepts, data readiness, model / solution lifecycle considerations, adoption planning, and responsible AI governance preferred.
  • Project Management certification such as PMP, PgMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, executive communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Hands-on proficiency with Microsoft Project, Microsoft 365, Teams, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar planning and reporting tools.


Preferred qualifications

  • Experience supporting programs involving AI Foundries (e.g., MS Foundry), M365 Copilot, Copilot Studio, AI agents, knowledge search, workflow automation, data analytics, or enterprise AI platforms.
  • Ability to create AI use case intake criteria, prioritization models, delivery playbooks, adoption plans, and value measurement dashboards.
  • Experience coordinating architecture, security, privacy, legal, data governance, and operations reviews for emerging technology initiatives.
  • Familiarity with organizational change management for new digital capabilities, including training, communications, stakeholder readiness, and support transition.


Lam offers a variety of work location models based on the needs of each role. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories - On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. 'On-site Flex' you'll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. 'Virtual Flex' you'll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.

Salary

CA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $114,000.00 - $253,000.00.

The above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Actual salary may vary from salary offered due to numerous factors including but not limited to unpaid time off, unpaid leave, company mandated shutdown, and other relevant factors.
