Job Description

OES Equipment, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is a fast-paced supply and rental equipment company in the construction industry. We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Project Engineer to support preconstruction and project execution efforts for our Modular Solutions group. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of modular construction by combining technical expertise with strategic client engagement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project planning, estimating, and client relationships to support the growth of our modular office solutions offering. Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reviews moderately complex designs, permitting, and technical aspects of construction projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications, code and permitting requirements, and quality benchmarks, while maintaining consistent field presence to support safe execution of work, participating in safety meetings including stretch and flex, and applying working knowledge of high-risk activities to support effective planning and controlled outcomes.


  • Coordinates with project managers, architects, trade partners, and vendors to resolve moderately complex technical challenges on projects, ensuring uninterrupted crew productivity and project progress, and supporting procurement and subcontract coordination activities.


  • Reviews and provides feedback on construction drawings, submittals, and change orders for accuracy and alignment with project goals, including supporting design development and constructability review.


  • Supports the implementation and development of cost estimating, budget development, and project controls, including schedule tracking and cost monitoring, to support timely and cost-effective delivery.


  • Prepares and presents progress reports and maintains project documentation and key records (e.g., drawings, logs, and submittals) for internal and external stakeholders.


  • Identifies and helps mitigate risks on projects through field analysis, cost and schedule awareness, and the application of engineering solutions.


  • Supports project team members providing technical expertise on safety and quality standards and contributing to the resolution of project issues.


Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, materials, processes, and systems. Familiarity with building codes and permitting processes.


  • Strong understanding of cost estimating, budgeting and forecasting.


  • Creative and innovative approaches and solutions on a project-by-project basis.


  • Ability to identify, adapt to, and resolve complex issues. Makes sound decisions in a timely manner based on a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, input, and judgement.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience required.


  • 4-6 years of experience in construction engineering, project engineering, or a related field required.


  • Working knowledge of construction processes, estimating, scheduling, and project coordination.


  • Experience with modular or container-based construction systems preferred.


  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 30-Hour Construction certification preferred. OSHA 30 program completion within 6 months of hire is required.


Physical Requirements

  • 10% - 25% travel for site inspections and project installations.


  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.


  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
