Job Title: Product Owner

LOCATION: Hybrid - Dallas, TX

Role Overview

The Senior Product Owner serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and Agile delivery teams, ensuring that strategic priorities are translated into actionable work that delivers measurable business value.

Working under the direction of a Product Manager, this role is responsible for managing and prioritizing team backlogs, defining product requirements, facilitating delivery execution, and supporting continuous improvement across Scrum and Kanban teams. The Senior Product Owner collaborates closely with stakeholders, developers, architects, business analysts, UX designers, and Scrum Masters to ensure solutions align with organizational goals and customer needs.

This position requires extensive experience operating within Agile environments and supporting multiple delivery teams while balancing competing priorities, dependencies, and stakeholder expectations.

Responsibilities

Product Backlog Management:

Own and manage team backlogs, ensuring alignment with product roadmaps and strategic priorities established by Product Management.

Collaborate with Product Managers to translate initiatives, business objectives, and stakeholder needs into epics and user stories.

Prioritize backlog items based on business value, risk, dependencies, and team capacity.

Ensure backlog items are well-defined, estimated, and ready for development.

Maintain backlog health through ongoing refinement and refinement activities.

Own and manage the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business objectives and user outcomes.

Agile Delivery Leadership:

Support Scrum and Kanban teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.

Participate in Sprint Planning, Backlog Refinement, Reviews, Retrospectives, and Kanban replenishment activities.

Provide timely clarification of requirements and acceptance criteria to delivery teams.

Review completed work and formally accept delivered functionality.

Ensure delivered solutions meet business objectives and stakeholder expectations.

Requirements & Stakeholder Management:

Facilitate discovery sessions, requirement workshops, journey mapping sessions, and stakeholder interviews.

Elicit and document business requirements, workflows, business rules, and process improvements.

Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholder questions regarding product requirements and priorities.

Build consensus among stakeholders and assist with prioritization decisions.

Communicate delivery status, risks, and dependencies to Product Managers and leadership.

Product Planning & Coordination:

Partner with Product Managers to support roadmap planning and release forecasting.

Assist in identifying and managing dependencies across teams and initiatives.

Coordinate user acceptance testing activities and stakeholder validation efforts.

Support release readiness activities and production deployment planning.

Track technical debt, operational support needs, and enhancement requests as part of backlog prioritization.
