The OpportunityOur Android mobile team is part of the Adobe Video organization, where we build video creation and editing experiences for storytellers across desktop, mobile, and web. We move fast, care deeply about craft, and believe the best products come from engineers who think like product owners.
Are you a Senior Android Engineer who leads with judgment across code, product, and design? Do you push back on specs that aren't right - and help define better ones? If you ship high-quality Android experiences, know how to leverage AI tools to accelerate your work, and bring genuine taste and instinct to every feature you own, we'd love to meet you!
What You'll DoWe work end-to-end, and so will you. In this role, you'll own complex Android features from interaction design through engineering and production. You'll partner with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to shape and refine product requirements using your technical and UX instincts - bringing a point of view, not just implementation.
You'll use AI-assisted and agentic coding tools to accelerate delivery, applying strong judgment to direct AI sessions, evaluate output critically, and refactor where needed. We expect you to make confident scope and priority calls that balance craft, velocity, and user impact - and to mentor peers while maintaining high standards across the codebase.
We ship, learn, and improve: you'll test assumptions early, iterate on real feedback, and treat every release as an opportunity to raise the bar on usability, performance, and creative outcomes.
What We're Looking ForYou'll need:- 7+ years shipping Android applications
- Deep proficiency in Android Java and/or Kotlin.
- Strong expertise in multi-threading, memory management, and performance profiling
- Product instinct and UX sensibility - you know the Google's Material Design guidelines deeply, notice when an interaction feels off, and can articulate why it matters
- Comfort with ambiguity; you're energized by finding the right answer, not just implementing a given one
- Proficiency with AI-assisted development tools - including agentic coding workflows - with the ability to direct and orchestrate AI sessions effectively and critically evaluate and validate generated output
- Clear, precise communication - written and verbal - across technical and product contexts
- A deep understanding of mobile video editing workflows - or the drive to develop it fast
Even Better If You HaveExperience with Jetpack Compose, Media3 and video/multimedia development or a track record of influencing product or design decisions rather than just implementing them. Familiarity with design systems or prototyping tools like Figma - enough for a real dialogue with designers - is a plus, as is experience building creative or video production tools or using video editing apps.
Why Adobe Video? We offer a small-team environment with big ownership - you'll work at the intersection of world-class creative software and AI-augmented engineering. We invest in our people with industry-leading benefits, including comprehensive health coverage, generous equity, flexible time off, and access to Adobe's full suite of creative tools. We believe diverse perspectives make our products better, and we're committed to building a team where everyone can do the best work of their careers.
Are you ready to shape tools used by millions of creators worldwide? We'd love to hear from you!
