Position Title: Senior Process Automation Software Engineer

As a Senior Process Automation Software Engineer, you will be designing, developing, testing, and supporting software applications for process automation in R&D and manufacturing. You will work alongside our processing and R&D teams during the development of new products including next-generation WSS and Silicon Photonic components and modules.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing and implementing optical test and verification strategies to bring leading-edge products from initial design and NPI stages to volume manufacturing
- Collaborating with engineers in the R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams, to help meet or exceed the product requirements
- Delivering robust, well-documented, scalable optical test applications
- Sharing best practices, influencing, and supporting other engineering teams with optical development activities related to process and test automation
- Support process engineers at our manufacturing sites in Asia
What We’re Looking For
Education:
A graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or a related field
Experience:
Core Requirements:
- Strong background in optics with deep knowledge of fiber optics, free-space optics, and associated components and subsystems
- 2-5 years of industry experience in calibrating and testing optical communication components and subsystems
- Demonstrable experience with electrical and optical test and measurement equipment
- Demonstrable programming and automation experience
Skills:
- Experience in the design and/or testing of optical components and subsystems for optical communications
- Experience of test automation to interact with device under test and test equipment
- Proficiency in C#, VB.NET, and the .NET frameworks and libraries
- Familiarity with Agile software development tools (e.g., Jira), source control systems (SVN, Git), and peer code review practices
- Familiarity with data analytics tools used for manufacturing process control and statistical analysis
- Hands-on experience with free-space optical systems is highly valued
- Experience in silicon photonics testing is considered a significant advantage

Salary Range: $93,000 - $133,000 CAD (flexible).
