Role Summary:
As a Senior Precision Engineer at Corning, you will drive the advancement of precision mechanical and metrology system design by applying advanced engineering and manufacturing theories, concepts, and techniques. You will serve as an organizational spokesperson, advisor, and technical visionary-taking on self-initiated, high-impact assignments that shape Corning's technological future.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of new engineering principles, concepts, and methodologies that set industry benchmarks.
  • Solve unusually complex technical problems by providing innovative, ingenious solutions that influence long-range business objectives.
  • Work under consultative direction, proactively determining and pursuing the best courses of action to achieve critical results.
  • Guide the full lifecycle of advanced technological ideas, from inception through product realization, ensuring organizational objectives are met.
  • Act as an advisor to management and customers on advanced technical research, studies, and applications that position Corning as a leader in the field.
  • Serve as a spokesperson for advanced engineering and manufacturing projects, representing the organization in key technical forums and client engagements.

Required Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Precision Engineering, or a related field, with 12+ years of experience; Master's degree with 10+ years; or PhD with 7+ years.
  • Extensive experience leading and influencing high-stakes engineering projects in optics, opto-mechanical design, and metrology.

The range for this position is $133,911.00 - $184,128.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
