Job DescriptionWhat We are Looking ForThe Oracle Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Systems Analyst / Senior Systems Analyst plays a critical role in supporting and optimizing Baylor's Oracle Cloud ERP Finance and HCM systems as part of the ITS Ignite team. Serving as a primary liaison to Finance, HR, and IT stakeholders, this role manages a portfolio of ERP modules, particularly project-related areas such as research, grants, and capital projects, while also supporting Labor Distribution processes to ensure alignment across payroll, effort reporting, and project costing. The position focuses on continuous improvement through system configuration, testing, release management, and data-driven analysis to enhance business processes and maximize system functionality. As a subject matter expert, the Systems Analyst delivers high-quality support, drives issue resolution, and partners with operational leaders to achieve strategic business outcomes through effective use of ERP technology.
A bachelor's degree and two years of relevant experience are required. A master's degree and a certification in Oracle enterprise applications or Oracle Cloud ERP is preferred.
Applicants must be authorized to work full-time in the United States.What You Will DoOracle Cloud Systems Expertise & Technical Management
- Maintain deep functional and technical knowledge of Oracle Cloud ERP, including integrations with external systems used at Baylor. Perform system configuration, maintenance, monitoring, and validation to ensure integrity, performance, and availability of assigned modules. Troubleshoot system and program issues, manage system jobs, and support expansions or modifications to improve functionality and workflow. Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies and ensure ongoing Oracle Cloud certification compliance.
Release Management, Testing & System Reliability
- Monitor quarterly release updates, assess impacts, and coordinate testing, validation, and implementation of system changes in collaboration with ITS Ignite, Business Optimization, and technical teams. Manage end-to-end testing processes for enhancements and fixes, ensuring system stability and performance. Maintain system documentation and training materials to reflect current functionality and support continuity across modules, including serving as backup support where needed.
Business Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement
- Analyze business needs and translate them into system solutions by designing and improving workflows, configurations, and processes. Partner with functional and technical stakeholders to identify optimization opportunities, recommend enhancements, and implement best practices aligned with higher education standards. Apply analytical problem-solving skills to address complex issues and drive continuous improvement across ERP-related operations.
Stakeholder Engagement, Support & Change Management
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for the assigned application portfolio, managing issue resolution, service requests, and vendor coordination. Engage with stakeholders across Finance, HR, and IT to support system enhancements and organizational changes, ensuring clear, concise, and user-friendly communication. Support change management efforts in partnership with Business Optimization and provide responsive customer service using tools such as Jira.
Functional Domain Support, Reporting & Project Leadership
- Support and optimize Labor Distribution processes, ensuring alignment across payroll, project costing, and compliance requirements, particularly in research and higher education environments. Collaborate on effort reporting and support related solutions such as Huron ECC and Huron CARA. Develop reporting, dashboards, and analytics to inform decision-making, and serve as a technical lead for moderate-scope projects while partnering with development teams to deliver enhancements and resolve defects.

The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $99,000 - $108,000. The full salary range for this position classification is $86,327.44 - $122,529.27.
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certification, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
