Full Job Description
The Senior Manager Team Security will support the Director of Security in implementing safety and security procedures for assigned players, coaches and executives of the New York Knicks. He/she will proactively collaborate with the VP of Team Security to coordinate scheduling of game day security arrangements with arena personnel, third party contracted security firms for game day, liaise with local police and manage other security matters as needed. This position will be responsible for assisting in the coordination of specific player needs, in accordance with existing team and Madison Square Garden policies, guidelines and initiatives. What will you do? • Travel with the team throughout the course of the season (preseason, regular season and playoffs) and provide personal player security (ingress, egress, post-game, etc.) for all games at MSG and road games. Working in concert with the Director of Team Security and other related MSG personnel. • Coordinate, prepare and disseminate all relative information regarding player security to appropriate team personnel and in-house staff (MSG/Command Center, etc.). • Interact and coordinate efforts with all necessary team personnel and MSG staff on game nights. Provide personal security for family members of assigned Knicks players, coaches and executives, as directed. • Ensure highest levels of guest experience, while providing a secure environment for Knicks players in areas where the potential of public and player interaction could exist. • Assist in communicating all related information regarding player security to the team and MSG staff on game nights; including those posts near the team locker room. • Confer and provide information regarding operational and investigative situations when necessary. Will work closely with the Director of Event Operations, Director of Building Security, Director of MSG Intelligence and the Director of Investigations to coordinate player activities and needs when applicable. • Collaborate and partner with the Director of Basketball Operations regularly and aid him/her as needed. • Manages safety data software, systems, and groups to support data collection, visualization, and distribution to identify safety issues, best practices, trending of safety information, and assessment of localized and systemic risk. • Engages collaboratively with leaders from Aviation, Corporate Safety, government agencies, vendors, and industry to identify and resolve trending and systemic safety issues. Evaluates events affecting safety and provides insight to senior management on continuous improvement opportunities. • Responsible for delivering reports to include specific safety trends, systemic observations, data analysis, and tracking of number of open, closed, pending Action Item responses, response time, timeliness of correction action, and overall standardization and program management. • Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site. What do you need to succeed? • 8+ Years of protection related experience. • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Minimum 5-7 years of previous law enforcement or security experience • Strong communication and Analytics capabilities • Experience working with celebrities, high profile athletes, and their family members. • Experience working with law enforcement and coordinating security and safety needs for clients. • Specialized training in personal protection, safety and security for high profile clients. Special Requirements • Ability to travel as required in support of investigations or security operations. • Ability to be flexible as it relates to scheduling.
