Full Job Description

This position is eligible for remote work. Currently we can hire employees in the following states: Arizona, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming. This role will have occasional on site expectations.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Leads priorities, goals, performance reviews and metrics for department and individual performance
  • Manages store replenishment carrier strategy by developing and implementing transportation initiatives that will improve lead-times, on-time delivery, and overall costs
  • Manages the store delivery schedule while partnering with external freight carriers, distribution center leadership, merchandise planning, and stores to ensure capacity needs are met
  • Directs daily operations for all outbound freight to stores ensuring balanced volume for DC networks while meeting capacity requirements for store replenishment utilizing proprietary Store Truck Technology (MMS)
  • Manages, communicates, and addresses any issues related to overall capacity, balancing budget targets and store replenishment volume needs
  • Ensures freight invoices are accurate and submitted as required for payment
  • Provides scorecards and leads carrier QBRs highlighting key performance indicators related to store delivery service levels with action plans for improvements required
  • Leads domestic transportation requests for pricing and contracts for all modes including contract negotiations, legal reviews, data analysis and reporting
  • Identifies and escalates carrier performance opportunities and  resolves carrier issues that impact on-time delivery of shipments
  • Proactively develops contingency plans and manages crisis situations as need arises
  • Interprets, implements and follows-up on government regulations as necessary
  • Stays up to date on industry trends for issues impacting carrier network and service levels
  • Responsible for motivating, training, recruitment, retention and career development of the Transportation Team
  • Assists in the development of expense plan, controls and measurements to monitor progress, including service-level agreements
  • Understands best practice metrics and the requirements for operational compliance / commitment and is a key leader in meeting the guidelines for effective service levels and risk management
  • Demonstrates support for the merchandising and stores organizations by fostering effective communication
  • Leads in the development of metrics, systems and best practices
  • Consistently arrives promptly to work the assigned schedule
  • Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information
  • Performs other requested tasks and duties

This position requires you to sit, stand and perform general office functions. You may also be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Bending, stooping and reaching are also frequently required.
