Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced recruiting leader to help scale a rapidly growing biotechnology company during a critical stage of expansion. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-growth environments and can balance hands-on recruiting execution with broader ownership of recruiting operations, hiring processes, and cross-functional partnership.

The Associate Director, Recruitment will work closely with company leadership, hiring managers, and technical team leads to drive hiring strategy and execution across multiple functions. This individual will play a key role in helping build scalable recruiting processes while ensuring the company continues to attract exceptional talent during a period of accelerated growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting across technical, scientific, and business functions
  • Own the sourcing and engagement of high-caliber candidates in competitive talent markets
  • Partner directly with hiring managers and technical team leads to define hiring needs and build effective search strategies
  • Partner with leadership and hiring managers to align hiring plans, headcount priorities, and recruiting activity with team hiring budgets
  • Write and refine job descriptions in partnership with hiring teams
  • Conduct recruiter screens and manage interview processes from kickoff through offer stage
  • Coordinate and facilitate interview feedback and hiring decisions across teams
  • Manage multiple active searches simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • Help improve recruiting workflows, interview processes, and candidate experience as the organization scales
  • Serve as a trusted recruiting partner to leadership during a period of rapid company growth


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Associate's degree with additional relevant experience will also be considered
  • 8-10 years of full-cycle recruiting experience, including significant experience within biotech or life sciences organizations
  • Proven track record recruiting for technical, scientific, or other specialized roles
  • Strong sourcing and candidate engagement skills, including experience identifying passive talent
  • Experience operating in startup or high-growth environments with aggressive hiring goals
  • Comfortable managing a high volume of searches while maintaining strong attention to detail
  • Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
  • Highly proactive, resourceful, and execution-oriented
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in San Diego
