The Senior Manager leads a team of Project Managers to contribute to the overall success of the Global HR Project Management Office, ensuring specific goals, plans and initiatives are executed/delivered in support of HR's strategies and objectives. Conducts all activities in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role you wil:
  • Lead and drive a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
  • Drive awareness and adoption of project management disciplines and governance across Global HR to ensure the successful delivery of HR projects, aligned with the enterprise project delivery framework
  • Partner with HR PMO Director to drive process improvement and PMO evolution
  • Manage project assignment, resourcing and capacity planning for direct reports
  • Support the team in successful execution and delivery of the assigned portfolio of GHR projects
  • Ensure effective communication and status reporting on scope, schedule, budget, risks and issues for the assigned portfolio of projects May be directly accountable for management of individual projects based on needs of the business
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
  • Create an environment in which their team pursues effective and efficient operations in accordance with Scotiabank's values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk
  • Build a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vision, values, and business strategy; and managing succession and development planning for the team


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
  • Certification in project management (PMP) and 5+ years business experience
  • Expert familiarity with project management disciplines and tools
  • 2+ years of direct people management experience, preferably in a PMO environment
  • 5+ years running complex projects, preferably with experience in an IT environment
  • Excellent organizational skills, relationship management, communication, and problem solving
  • Must be proactive, self-starter and capable of learning new ways of doing things
  • Capable of navigating complex situations
  • Strong knowledge of the Bank or Financial Institutions is preferred
  • Fluency in Spanish (verbal/written) is an asset
