The Product Development Team at Mackenzie Investments is currently accepting applications for the position of Senior Manager, Product Innovation and Development. Reporting to the VP, Product Innovation and Development, this individual will be responsible for the following activities:

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and guide comprehensive competitive and industry analyses to inform the development of all new product initiatives, ensuring alignment with market trends and company objectives.
  • Apply strong working knowledge of capital markets, asset categories, and a wide range of investment products including mutual funds, ETFs, and alternative investments to support strategic assessments and decision-marking.
  • Lead efforts in obtaining necessary approvals, coordinating product launches, and conducting training sessions for new products.
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute launch strategies, resolve issues, and partner with product managers to drive successful implementation.
  • Manage and support the administration of Mackenzie's diverse range of investment funds, including mutual funds, ETFs, interval funds, offering memorandum products, and liquid alternative funds.
  • Lead the development and direction of research initiatives aimed at enhancing and maintaining Mackenzie's current product shelf while spearheading the ideation and development of new product offerings.
  • Review and interpret external research reports, effectively communicating findings and insights to internal stakeholders to inform strategic decisions.
  • Deliver timely, ad hoc research and analysis insights to stakeholders to support their decision-making processes.
  • Create and deliver presentations for senior management to facilitate communication and support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide key industry decision-making reports and analytics, along with product-level competitive intelligence, to ensure a continuous flow of information supporting innovation.
  • Lead and coordinate project management efforts for new and ongoing initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and timely execution.


Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in Finance or Business; CFA designation is an asset.
  • 6 - 10 years of experience within Product Development in the Financial Services industry, with a proven track record of leadership and strategic influence.
  • In-depth understanding of the financial services industry and the global/domestic competitive landscape for retail and strategic alliances business lines.
  • Strong working knowledge of capital markets, asset categories, and a wide range of investment products including mutual funds, ETFs, and alternative investments.
  • Extensive knowledge of investment industry products and services, as well as distribution channels.
  • Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with teams across the organization.
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate and maintain attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint), Bloomberg, and Morningstar Direct.


Analytical Skills

  • Ability to apply advanced analytical methods to support decision-making and strategy formulation.
  • Proficient in using a variety of analytical tools for financial analysis.
  • Apply sound judgment in constructing analysis and formulating recommendations.
  • Resourceful and creative in solving new or non-recurring problems through well-supported analysis and business acumen.
  • Strong interest in business unit analysis and review, including financial analysis modeling.


Presentation and Communication Skills

  • Ability to create compelling PowerPoint presentations with clear messaging and sound analysis.
  • Maintain a professional manner in dealing with both internal and external clients.
  • Articulate in communicating with all levels of management and skilled in concise and persuasive writing.


Project Management Skills

  • Capable of coordinating resources from across the company for large-scale projects.
  • Timeline-driven with a consistent track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Comfortable handling multiple concurrent problems and priorities.


The expected annual base salary range for this role is $113,000- $141,500 which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
