Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?As Senior Manager, Performance Management, Commercial Banking, you will own all forward-looking financial views for Commercial Banking. This role encompasses the mid-month forecast, T-5 estimate, annual plan, 5-year outlook, and required scenario analysis, along with documentation of forecast methodology. You will lead financial planning and forecasting, developing robust financial models and planning frameworks that support management decision-making and strategic planning. Working in close collaboration with Line of Business advisors, you will ensure Commercial Banking forecasting methodology is properly documented, accurate, and consistent with performance and market realities, enabling profitable growth and long-term value creation.
What will you do?- Manage the monthly estimates reporting process to provide early visibility of financial results, including mid-month and T-5 forecasts incorporating updated business assumptions and performance trends
- Lead the annual plan and 5-year strategic planning processes with Commercial Banking leadership and stakeholders
- Facilitate planning workshops and business reviews focused on strategy alignment and driver validation
- Ensure forecasts and plans reflect key business drivers, market assumptions, competitive dynamics, and strategic initiatives
- Develop clear, insightful written commentary explaining drivers of variances and key performance trends across forecast periods
- Identify emerging risks, cost pressures, and performance trends requiring executive attention
- Present forecast results and findings to Commercial Banking leadership for review and approval
- Establish and maintain control frameworks for consolidated forecasting, including data quality reviews, reconciliations, and validation procedures
- Document and continuously improve reporting processes to enhance consistency and reliability
- Serve as the first point of contact for Commercial Banking on consolidated forecasting inquiries
- Communicate financial forecast results and insights to Commercial Banking executives, finance teams, and business leaders
- Partner with Commercial Banking Finance team and Personal Banking & Commercial Banking Platform Finance on consolidated reporting requirements
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness
- Maintain and continuously enhance financial reporting dashboards and reporting systems
- Document reporting methodologies and maintain reporting documentation library
What do you need to succeed?Must Have- MBA, CFA, or CPA designation
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, Commercial Banking, or Credit Risk
- Strong executive presence and ability to make the complex simple
- Ability to manage competing priorities within tight timelines, prioritize, and work autonomously
- Proven ability to build trust with business partners and finance peers, working cross-functionally to get things done
- Demonstrated experience preparing financial content for senior management
- Exceptional financial modeling, data analysis, and communication skills
- High level of integrity, business acumen, and sound judgment
- Execute with a high sense of urgency
- Strong attention to detail
Nice to Have- Experience with PowerBI, Tableau, Thinkcell, EPM, or PeopleSoft
- Previous track record working in a financial institution
- Ability to work in a matrix model with high confidence and collaboration with partners
