Senior Manager - Mods & BCF

Boeing Global Services (BGS) Supplier Management has an opening for a Senior Manager - Mods & BCF (Level M) with the responsibility, accountability and authority (RAA) to build and lead a diverse team of managers and individual contributors in support of landing gear, exchange programs, training, new product development, airframe maintenance/modification, engineering services and analytics programs in Seattle, WA.

This is an expansive role and this role requires extensive experience negotiating and managing MROs - both parts and at the airframe level. This position also supports BCA as necessary for post ticket airframe MRO work. The successful candidate will have primary responsibility for Program Integration, Business Operations and Strategy, Supply Base Strategy and geo-diversification, Operational Metrics/Dashboard, Business Transformation and Special Projects and Initiatives.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Development and performance management of after-market supply base for our key commercial suppliers, with added focus on geo-diversification and continuous improvement
  • Managing supplier operations activities including new business proposal and change board activities, management of supply base performance including on-time delivery, quality, supplier capacity analysis, supplier recovery plans, and readiness assessments. Performing risk management and mitigation activities.
  • Establishing an agile and responsive supply base with rapid response capabilities required to support the BGS business in a competitive and global marketplace.
  • This position will also require proven ability to operate in a collaborative environment developing strong relationships across teams and functions to ensure overall success of aggressive business objectives in a dynamic environment.
  • Ensure organizational, business and technical strategies, goals and objectives align with business strategy and customer requirements. Meet supplier performance metric targets, manage progress to plan.
  • Develop project or operational plans, and execute organizational strategies that accelerate growth, reduce cost and lead times, and improve supply base performance, including managing supplier recovery plans.
  • Establish/ build strategic partnerships and relationships with internal and external customers, stakeholders, peers, and direct reports.
  • Provide strategic leadership, technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements, and participate in negotiations as necessary.
  • Build and develop an empowered team through coaching and mentoring and provide developmental opportunities and job assignments to enhance employee performance and expand capabilities.
  • Inspire a culture and create an environment where diverse, high-performing and engaged team members can excel and flourish.
  • Champion a culture of communication that conveys organizational messages to facilitate the accomplishment of workgroup, project or process goals. Employ Seek, Speak & Listen (SS&L) to proactively communicate and engage with employees, peers, customers, and stakeholders, keep others informed.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience):
  • 5+ years of total related experience
  • 3+ years of experience in negotiating contracts or managing supplier performance.
  • 3+ years of experience managing suppliers/vendors to deliver products and services.
  • Experience with critical business and financial acumen including risk, issue, and opportunity management to drive performance.
  • Experience using or applying metrics to measure performance against projects.
  • Experience in Supply Chain Sourcing, Supplier Management, and Supply Chain Planning.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor's degree - Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field of study
  • 3+ years of experience in Global MRO Operations Management
  • 4+ years of experience within supply chain strategies (e.g., inventory reduction, supplier consolidation, optimum flow, lead-time reduction).
  • This position requires travel up to 10% of the time (domestic or international or both?
