Job DescriptionSeeking candidate with demonstrated experience in Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) mission architecture, design, analysis, and execution. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge of space-based infrared sensor systems and their operational employment across multiple mission areas. Experience should include familiarity with OPIR phenomenology, sensor capabilities, and ground enterprise operations. Candidate must also understand the integration of OPIR data into operational workflows and creation of products. Experience in OPIR mission planning, tasking, and collection management is highly desired. Experience supporting real-time operations or multi-intelligence fusion is a plus.

The Engineering, Science and Analysis (ESA) Strategic Capabilities Unit comprises the technical talent and organizational leadership that enables the successful delivery of high-impact discriminating technologies for our customers9 missions. What You9ll Do:- Develop and utilize technical trades studies to define system architectures.
- Trade technical performance options and impacts.
- Define System CONOPS.
- Contribute to new IRAD/ technology development concepts.
- Provide engineering support across multiple new business pursuits by developing concepts to meet customer mission needs.
- Contribute to the development of customer relationships, understand customer needs, and connect needs with BAE Systems (SMS) technology roadmap during capture and execution.
- As a team leader, you will guide a team to completion of milestones within specific projects and provide solutions to a variety of technical problems. This will require mentoring, training, and organizing teams.
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data analytics, modeling and simulation, and space architectures.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working
on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions: - Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
- May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
- May access other facilities in various weather conditions.
Short Term Incentive: Subject to business performance and recommendations of management, this role may be eligible to participate in an incentive compensation plan.
Required Skills and Education- BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required plus 12 or more years related experience.
- Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master9s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
- A current, active Top Secret/SCI security clearance is required
- Demonstrated experience in systems engineering to include Architecture Development, Performing Trade Studies, MBSE, and CONOPS development.
- Customer Relationships: Knowledge of missions and customers across core technologies areas.
- Ability to support the creation and delivery of analysis presentations to both internal and external customers.
- Ability to contribute to the success of small teams through excellent teamwork.

Preferred Skills and Education- MS or PhD in Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
- Experience working on aircraft and/or spacecraft systems.
- Experience with electro-optics and/or photonics systems.
- Experience with satellite ground systems.
