NetDocuments is seeking a Senior Manager, Datacenter & Cloud Applications to lead a team and function that will evolve alongside our infrastructure strategy. Initially, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of our Datacenter Infrastructure team, ensuring our on-premise environments operate with a high degree of reliability, security, and scalability. As our public cloud journey matures, you'll build and lead a team of cloud application engineers who operate as hands-on AWS engineers and trusted operational partners to our broader engineering organization. This role is ideal for a leader who can operate credibly across both physical infrastructure and cloud-native environments and who is excited to actively shape the transition between them.

You will:

Datacenter & Infrastructure Operations
  • Lead day-to-day datacenter operations as part of the Cloud Infrastructure organization, ensuring stability, reliability, and performance across our physical environments.
  • Oversee operational practices across hardware, network, compute, and supporting infrastructure.
  • Partner with Software Engineering, Cloud Engineering, and Architecture teams to maintain reliable and scalable infrastructure supporting NetDocuments products.
  • Ensure infrastructure operations align with security and compliance requirements, including SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001.
  • Maintain and evolve business continuity and disaster recovery plans as infrastructure and business needs change.

Cloud Transformation & Application Operations
  • Lead the evolution of the team from traditional datacenter and infrastructure operations toward AWS-native cloud application engineering.
  • Manage and operate AWS PaaS services supporting NetDocuments SaaS applications as our public cloud footprint expands.
  • Establish cloud-native operational practices that improve reliability, scalability, automation, and engineering efficiency.
  • Position the team as hands-on engineering contributors capable of building and operating directly against cloud-native services.
  • Partner with product engineering teams to align Cloud Operations capabilities with product roadmaps and technical priorities.

Observability, Reliability & Incident Management
  • Establish and maintain observability standards and practices across infrastructure and cloud environments in partnership with key stakeholders.
  • Ensure appropriate logging, monitoring, telemetry, and operational visibility are incorporated into infrastructure and application environments.
  • Provide leadership for incident response subject matter experts in alignment with the established Incident Management process.
  • Identify opportunities to improve production reliability through automation, operational standards, and proactive infrastructure improvements.
  • Ensure Cloud Operations standards for observability, incident response, reliability, and security are represented within product engineering teams.

People Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, mentor, and develop engineers through a significant evolution in the team's technical responsibilities and operating model.
  • Build development plans that help engineers expand from datacenter and infrastructure operations into AWS-native platform engineering.
  • Establish certification paths, hands-on learning opportunities, and technical development plans that prepare the team for increased cloud ownership.
  • Build a team capable of serving as both engineering contributors and trusted operational advisors to the broader organization.
  • Create clear expectations, accountability, and development opportunities as the team's responsibilities evolve.

Cross-Functional & Strategic Leadership
  • Build trusted partnerships across the CTO organization, particularly with Engineering, Architecture, and Cloud Operations leadership.
  • Serve as an operational liaison between Cloud Operations and product engineering teams.
  • Ensure the team is appropriately embedded with engineering organizations to contribute to roadmap planning and execution.
  • Develop the team into trusted advisors to other Cloud Operations functions and engineering stakeholders.
  • Support strategic planning, budgeting, capacity planning, and investment decisions for the organization.

What You'll Need to Be Successful
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12+ years of professional experience in cloud or infrastructure engineering and operations, preferably within a SaaS environment.
  • 6+ years of people leadership experience, including demonstrated success leading teams through significant changes in technical direction, capabilities, or operating models.
  • Hands-on or operational experience with physical datacenter environments, including hardware lifecycle, facilities, networking, and compute infrastructure.
  • Working knowledge of AWS PaaS services, including technologies such as ECS/Fargate, DocumentDB, MSK, Valkey, and SES.
  • Experience operating across both traditional infrastructure and public cloud environments.
  • Experience implementing automation and DevOps practices within production operations environments.
  • Demonstrated project and change management experience within a multinational organization.
  • Experience with strategic planning, budgeting, and financial management.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001.

What Will Make You Stand Out
  • Experience leading an infrastructure organization through a significant datacenter-to-public-cloud transformation.
  • Experience developing infrastructure engineers into cloud or platform engineers.
  • Experience operating AWS PaaS services supporting large-scale SaaS applications.
