What You'll Do - Lead the accounting operations for cloud, generative AI, and technology service arrangements, applying strong judgment on infrastructure spend, consumption-based contracts, and capitalization.
- Partner with Technical Accounting, FP&A, Procurement, and Cloud Engineering to assess the accounting implications of new arrangements, contracts, and initiatives.
- Operationalize technical accounting conclusions into journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, close procedures, and controls.
- Own the close for worldwide compensation accounts, ensuring accurate accrual, recognition, and reporting of payroll, bonuses, commissions, severance, fringe benefits, and other compensation accruals.
- Oversee compensation balance sheet reconciliations across all entities, keeping accounts audit-ready and resolving payroll-to-GL discrepancies.
- Oversee the accounting for complex compensation transactions, including sales-commission capitalization, performance bonuses, and fringe and facility allocation and forecasting.
- Lead analytics across the compensation portfolio, surfacing trends, drivers, and anomalies, and partnering with HR, Payroll, and FP&A to strengthen forecast accuracy.
- Own lease accounting, including lease reviews, reconciliations, and journal entries using Tririga.
- Own the flux analysis and executive reporting for compensation, cloud, and lease expenses, delivering precise analysis of trends, key drivers, and risks.
- Drive process improvements and automation, including using AI tooling, to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of accounting work.
- Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team, and function as a strategic partner across Technical Accounting, Tax, Treasury, Procurement, Payroll, and FP&A.
- Support additional accounting areas and initiatives as needed.
What You Need To Succeed - CPA license required, with experience in both public accounting firms and publicly traded multinational companies.
- Strong technical accounting foundation under U.S. GAAP, including compensation, employee benefits, lease accounting and commission capitalization.
- Strong autonomy and accountability, leading complex projects with minimal oversight.
- Communicate with clarity and influence, effectively engaging executive leadership and diverse audiences.
- Champion process improvements and innovation, using AI, automation, and analytics to boost efficiency and scalability.
- Experience with cloud, SaaS, or consumption-based cost accounting and vendor-spend partnership is a plus.
- Experience with ERP systems required, preferably SAP S/4HANA; proficiency in Blackline, Tableau, and Power BI is highly preferable.
Expected Pay Range:
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this positionis $107,500 -- $221,350 annually. Paywithin this range varies by work locationand may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills,and experience. In California, the pay range for this position is $152,800 - $221,350
At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans. Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).
In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
