Job Description

The Senior Director of Epic Revenue Cycle Applications is responsible for leading the strategic planning, implementation, optimization, and ongoing management of revenue cycle solutions within the organization. This role ensures that all revenue cycle applications, including Epic and associated third-party tools, support the organization's financial and operational goals, enhance revenue integrity, and drive efficiency across all related processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership and direction for the Epic revenue cycle applications team, including managers, analysts, and project staff.
  • Oversee the implementation, integration, and support of Epic revenue cycle modules such as Cadence/Prelude, Resolute Hospital and Professional Billing, Claims, and related applications for both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders in revenue cycle and clinical operations to ensure alignment of Epic solutions with organizational objectives.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics, ensuring the delivery of high-quality support, upgrades, and system enhancements while providing transparency to operations on the status of strategic initiatives.
  • Lead change management initiatives to maximize user adoption and system effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, data security standards, and best practices in revenue cycle management.
  • Develop and manage budgets, resource allocation, and vendor relationships related to revenue cycle applications.

Experience:
  • Extensive experience (typically 15+ years) in healthcare IT with a focus on Epic revenue cycle applications and leadership roles.
  • Epic certification(s) in relevant revenue cycle modules is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare revenue cycle processes, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Familiarity and experience with technology solution delivery and process improvement methodologies including waterfall, Agile, Lean or similar (Six Sigma/DMAIC).
  • Proven ability to lead large teams and complex projects in a dynamic healthcare environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills. While some work may be performed remotely, there is an expectation that the candidate will be regularly available to meet with stakeholders in person.
  • Experience managing a hybrid on-site/off-site team including full-time employees, contract workers, and vendor-based managed service teams.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Agile Transformation or enterprise application organizations supporting multiple cross functional teams.
  • Experience implementing portfolio governance, resource planning, and Agile delivery frameworks at scale.
  • Proven ability to align technology investments with organizational strategy and measurable business outcomes.
