Full Job Description
Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Interior Designer or Interior Architect to join our El Segundo studio and help shape residential projects in Malibu and Hawai'i - with the opportunity to contribute to future developments as the portfolio grows.

This is a hands-on design role spanning interior architecture, materials, FF&E, custom components, detailing, and product development. You will work side-by-side with architects, designers, and engineers to develop the home as a cohesive whole. We are looking for someone equally interested in how something looks, how it feels, how it works, and how it is made.

The Projects

Malibu - 16 beachfront residences. A collection of fully custom homes, each individually designed with bespoke interiors, custom components, and an exceptional level of attention to material, proportion, and detail.

Hawai'i - a new resort community. A large-scale collection of homes set within the landscape of Hawai'i, developing distinctive interiors and components that can be produced at scale without feeling standardized.

Position Impact

Ideas move quickly here from sketch to prototype to production - and designers remain involved throughout that process. Your work will shape how individual homes feel to live in and how interior systems are developed, refined, and manufactured at scale. You'll follow ideas from first sketch through production, installation, and the finished home - and leave your mark on both.

Who you are:

A designer with 7+ years of relevant experience and a strong portfolio of built work. You have exceptional design judgment and the technical ability to back it up - comfortable moving between concept and precise fabrication detail without losing either. You've worked on high-end residential, hospitality, or resort projects and you understand materials, proportion, colour, and finish at a sophisticated level. You can work convincingly across different aesthetic languages and you know how custom components are made, not just drawn.

Key Responsibilities

Design Development
  • Develop interior concepts, material palettes, and distinct design languages for each project.
  • Design kitchens, bathrooms, millwork, built-ins, lighting, fixtures, finishes, furniture, and FF&E.
  • Work closely with architects and engineers to integrate interiors with architecture, structure, MEP, lighting, and technology.

Technical Execution
  • Translate concepts into precise drawings, specifications, details, and fabrication information.
  • Develop repeatable interior systems and finish packages for Hawai'i and bespoke interiors for Malibu.

Product & Component Development
  • Work with manufacturers to prototype, test, and refine custom components.
  • Review materials, samples, shop drawings, mockups, and prototypes.

Collaboration
  • Collaborate with design, engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams globally and with specialist US fabricators.
  • Follow ideas from first sketch through production, installation, and the finished home.

Skills & Experience
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Exceptional design judgment and a strong portfolio of built work
  • Experience with high-end residential, hospitality, resort, or similarly design-focused projects
  • Strength in both concept and technical execution
  • Sophisticated understanding of materials, proportion, color, furniture, fixtures, and finishes
  • Experience developing custom millwork, furniture, fixtures, or architectural components
  • Ability to work convincingly across different aesthetic languages
  • AutoCAD or Rhino proficiency required; Revit experience strongly preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field

Bonus:
  • Product development, manufacturing, modular, or prefabricated construction experience
  • International sourcing or direct fabricator/manufacturer experience
  • Luxury residential or hospitality experience
  • Mandarin language ability
  • Comfort working in both metric and imperial units
  • NCIDQ certification or architectural licensure

WHAT WE OFFER
  • Culture for Growth
  • Health Benefits
  • Global Opportunities
  • Surrounded by an A Player Team
  • Competitive Remuneration
  • 🍓 Lots of fresh fruit, coffee, pals fridge and more (optional)
