Note:This role is a hybrid position with the expectation to work onsite (3) three days a week in the Ericsson office located in Plano, TX. Relocation is not offered for this position.

About this opportunity

Ericsson is looking for a Senior Integration Test Engineer to join our team in the United States. In this role, you will support 4G and 5G device and chipset testing, analyze device and network logs, and deliver testing and consulting services for Device & Network Testing (DNT). You will work directly with tier-1 chipset manufacturers and network operators to meet their testing and certification requirements.

What you will do

  • Design, execute, and support functional, integration, interoperability, and performance testing of telecommunications network features, software releases, and system updates based on technical specifications and product documentation.
  • Define and design end-to-end technical solutions for Device & Application Verification services.
  • Engage with customers to understand their technology strategy and key challenges.
  • Develop and maintain test plans, test cases, validation procedures, execution records, and test reports for standalone and integrated network environments.
  • Perform end-to-end device and network testing to verify service behavior, feature functionality, interoperability, and performance across radio, transport, and core network domains.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using traffic tracing and protocol analysis tools such as Wireshark to examine live traffic, signaling flows, and simulated data for standards compliance and performance evaluation.
  • Support the deployment, upgrade, configuration, validation, and troubleshooting of Radio Access Network (RAN) and New Radio (NR) systems.
  • Provide technical support to testing teams during lab execution by troubleshooting 4G and 5G RAN connectivity scenarios to validate customer features, services, and network functionalities.

The skills you bring

You must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. Master's degree is a plus.
  • At least 5 years' experience in wireless Device & Network Testing or a similar field, including device and chipset testing with 4G/5G wireless networks and root cause analysis using tools such as Wireshark within the telecommunications industry.
  • Domain knowledge in 3GPP standards, Device Testing, Multi-Vendor Verification, RAN, Core & IP, and Cloud environments.
  • Demonstrated customer facing skills.
    • Proven experience in customer-facing roles where they have led discussions on technology strategy, solution roadmaps, and implementation approaches.
    • Strong relationship-building skills, with a track record of establishing credibility and trust with customer decision-makers and influencers.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Comfort managing challenging conversations (e.g., trade-offs, constraints, risks) while maintaining a professional, consultative tone.
    • Ability to listen actively, summarize key discussion points, and document agreed actions and next steps for both customer and internal teams.


It would be nice if you also have:
  • Familiarity with the Ericsson product portfolio
  • Experience with packet core and radio access integration, telecom signaling and protocol analysis (NAS, NGAP, GTP, SCTP), IP networking (BGP, OSPF, RSTP, VLAN), and cloud-native infrastructure support in 4G/5G environments

The salary range for this position is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, and the candidate's combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

Short-Term Variable Compensation Plan: Your pay also includes the opportunity for an annual bonus. Actual bonus payouts are based on performance of the business against the unit's objectives, individual performance, and the individual bonus target. Certain eligibility and pro-ration rules apply.

Your Time
Your work-life balance is important to us. New employees are provided a minimum of 15 days of accrued vacation, up to 3 personal days per year, 11 annual holidays, 8 hours of volunteer time, and 80 hours of sick time annually. Please note paid time off is pro-rated based on the employee's start date. Furthermore, Ericsson provides up to 16 weeks of paid maternity leave and 6 weeks of parental or adoption leave at 100% of pay.
