Senior Integration Engineer Job Description:What's the role?Gen II is building out its Data & Integration Platform - the central integration backbone connecting 40+ systems across our fund administration technology estate. At the heart of DIP is an AI-assisted integration factory: a structured, repeatable delivery engine for building, testing, and deploying integration adapters at pace.
We are looking for a Senior Integration Engineer to join the DIP team and take direct ownership of integration delivery - combining deep Azure integration expertise with an embedded AI-assisted development practice. This is not a role for someone who is learning how to use AI tooling; we want someone who already works this way and can help us push the factory model further.
You will be expected to come in, get up to speed quickly, and drive forward integration workstreams with minimal oversight. We need a self-starter who can take a requirement, own it end-to-end, and deliver at pace and quality. You will report to and work closely with the Associate Director of Data Engineering.
What you'll be doingIntegration Factory & AI-Assisted Delivery - Building and extending reusable system wrappers for applications and systems across the Gen II technology estate.
- Using AI tooling (LLMs, codegen, Claude) across allintegration development - scaffolding Function Apps, generating Logic Apps workflows, producing APIM policies, building test cases, generating IaC, and automating documentation; AI assistance is the default mode of working, not a selective shortcut.
- Contributing to the factory's pattern library - standardising error handling, retry logic, logging, and payload structures across all integration components.
- Driving CI/CD pipeline integration for adapter delivery - automated test execution, linting, and deployment gates.
Azure Integration Engineering- Designing and building integration adapters using Azure Function Apps- the primary execution pattern across DIP.
- Developing Logic Apps Standard workflows, including WDL authoring, scope actions, error handling, and retry patterns - with AI-assisted workflow generation embedded in the build process.
- Configuring Azure API Management - inbound/outbound policies, managed identity auth, versioning, and throttling - leveraging AI to draft, validate, and document policies.
- Working with Azure Service Bus for event-driven and async messaging patterns.
- Contributing to IaCoutputs (Bicep) for per-adapter infrastructure - using AI to scaffold and maintain templates.
Delivery & Collaboration- Taking integration workstreams from requirement to production with minimal hand-holding.
- Writing clean, well-tested code with test suites aligned to DIP QA standards.
- Working closely with the Associate Director of Data Engineering, DIP Architect, BAs, and QA - raising blockers early and documenting decisions clearly.
- Collaborating with data engineers to ensure ingress and egress integration outputs land cleanlyin / out of Snowflake.
The ideal background for this role:- 5+ yearsof hands-on integration engineering experience - evidenced in role history, not just a skills list.
- Deep practical experience with Azure Function Apps, Logic Apps Standard, Service Bus, and API Management - you have written the workflows and configured the policies yourself.
- Strong C#development - clean, production-quality code with proper error handling, logging, and test coverage.
- Demonstrable experience building or contributing to an integration factory - reusable adapter patterns, scaffolding, CI/CD automation.
- Active use of AI-assisted development in integration delivery - pattern generation, code scaffolding, IaCtemplating, documentation automation; this should be embedded in how you work, not aspirational.
- Ability to own workstreams independently and drive delivery without close management.
- Experience writing system wrapper libraries - encapsulating authentication, API interaction, and error handling for third-party platforms (desirable).
- Snowflake experience - querying, schema patterns, and structuring integration payloads for downstream consumption (desirable).
- Exposure to fund administration or broader financial services environments (desirable).
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent qualification from a recognizeduniversity or higher education institution.
The salary range for this position is $125,000 - $160,000, in addition to a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits package. Please note that the actual salary offered within that range will depend on the candidate's experience level.
