Reporting to the Director, Identity & Access Control Management, the Senior Information Security Analyst supports the execution and management of operational security practices designed to protect the Bank's information assets across Scotiabank's global operations.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Assist with the execution of Security Offboarding processes in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate with internal customers in a clear, concise and professional manner.
  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Manage/assist with low to medium risk projects, as assigned.
  • Help to drive initiatives within the team and the overall department to deliver automation solutions and process improvements.
  • Assist with managing multiple initiatives/tasks concurrently. Assist on complex problems where analysis of situation requires in-depth evaluation of various factors. Escalates more complex problems to management for guidance.
  • Manage assigned tickets in the incident tracking system in a timely and effective manner to ensure a timely resolution; document all information, perform closure of assigned tickets to meet KPI standards.
  • Determine course(s) of action that may fall outside of procedural and policy guidelines and standards and make recommendations.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and business partners to drive automation and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Be curious and driven. Keep current on rapidly changing technological trends, self-teach new technologies and maintain an understanding of emerging technology strategies in order to apply those to internal processes.
  • Maintain working relationships with key business line partners in line with ScotiaBond characteristics.
  • Provide timely updates to management or stakeholders, when required/requested.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursue upskill opportunities and certifications.
  • Contributes to an inclusive work environment.
  • Participate in a customer focused culture throughout the team to deepen and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Take measures to learn and understand how the Bank's risk appetite and culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Provide support where required to prepare, enhance, maintain documentation.
  • Assist with and participate as needed (lead, facilitate) meetings with internal stakeholders.
  • Actively pursue and adhere to day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk (i.e., Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook, Guidelines for Business Conduct).
  • Actively pursue effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.


Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or equivalent experience in a related field. Up to 2 years and above (0 - 2+) experience preferred.
  • Professional certifications and membership of associations in the field of information/cyber security are desired (ex. Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)).
