Role Summary

Fanatics Live is building the future of live commerce for sports fans and collectors, bringing together content, community, and commerce in highly interactive digital experiences.

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate the web and software experiences that power Fanatics Live. You'll independently own meaningful product and technical problems, partnering closely with Product, Design, and other engineers to take ideas from concept through production.

You'll have the opportunity to work across complex consumer experiences and help build software that remains fast, reliable, and engaging even during our biggest moments.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, test, deploy, and operate high-quality software supporting Fanatics Live.
• Independently own significant features, services, and technical projects from design through production.
• Build scalable frontend, backend, API, or full-stack solutions supporting live commerce, discovery, community, and transactional experiences.
• Translate product requirements and customer needs into thoughtful technical designs and implementation plans.
• Solve complex engineering problems involving architecture, performance, reliability, scalability, data, and integrations.
• Partner closely with Product and Design to shape solutions and deliver compelling customer experiences.
• Build software capable of performing reliably during high-traffic events, launches, and rapidly changing demand.
• Contribute actively to architecture discussions, technical designs, code reviews, and engineering planning.
• Improve application performance, observability, automated testing, deployment safety, and production reliability.
• Diagnose complex production issues and drive them through root-cause analysis and resolution.
• Identify technical debt and opportunities to simplify, modernize, or improve existing systems.
• Contribute to shared engineering standards, reusable components, APIs, libraries, and development practices.
• Mentor other engineers through technical collaboration, design discussions, and code reviews.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production applications.
• Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages and frameworks used to build web applications and services.
• Significant experience with modern web application architecture, APIs, distributed systems, cloud services, or full-stack development.
• Experience independently delivering substantial technical projects or customer-facing product features.
• Strong understanding of software design, testing, debugging, performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Ability to diagnose complex application and production problems using logs, metrics, tracing, and systematic troubleshooting.
• Strong technical judgment and an ability to make appropriate tradeoffs between delivery speed, maintainability, performance, and reliability.
• Experience collaborating effectively with product managers, designers, engineers, and other technical partners.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to other engineers.

Nice to Have

• Experience with consumer-facing marketplaces, e-commerce, live streaming, social/community products, auctions, payments, or other high-traffic applications.
• Experience with real-time communication or event-driven architectures.
• Experience building applications that experience significant traffic spikes around launches or live events.
• Experience optimizing consumer web applications for performance and reliability.
• Fanatics' architecture places Software Engineering within the Technology job family and distinguishes Senior and Staff as separate levels within the technical individual-contributor career path.

The salary range represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. This salary range is specific to New York City and may not be applicable to other locations. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training. $160,000-$200,000 USD
