Job Purpose
The BorgWarner Arden campus offers two world class technical centers and a cutting-edge manufacturing facility that designs and produces turbos, fan, and fan drive components for the automotive industry. This position will ensure that all BWTS products meet or exceed reliability, durability, and performance targets and be responsible for development and testing issues associated with qualification and engineering release of turbochargers and turbocharger components.
Key Responsibilities
- Participates as a part of a program management team to determine appropriate testing and other validation work required to achieve engineering and production release according to customer deadlines.
- Leads PAA, DFMEA, and DVP&R workshops.
- Provides input for testing requirements, test planning, acceptance criteria, etc.
- Conducts testing as required to fulfil DVP&R, verifies standard procedures are used in performing tests.
- Reviews test results, makes pass/fail decisions.
- Provides feedback to engineering staff, program management, and customers as needed.
- Leads an issue Resolution/8D investigation team to investigate and analyze failures and implement corrective actions.
- Provides Engineering support to the respective manufacturing plants.
- Determines necessary validation analysis/testing required for engineering changes and deviations and conducts analysis/testing as required.
- Approves PPAPs for Engineering
- Leads DfV and VA/VE teams to determine and conduct necessary analysis and testing
- Provides feedback for updating and maintaining standards and procedures used for product testing and qualification.
- Possesses proficiency or has the ability to be trained to design tools and techniques indicated on “Design Tools and Skills Matrix.”
- Understands and adheres to current quality and control policies.
- Understands and adheres to current health, safety, and environmental policies.
- Communicates and enforces safe work procedures.
- Identifies and closes safety issues (suggestions, inspection, and investigation findings) and their corrective actions.
- Performs other duties as requested, directed or assigned.
What we are looking for
- BSME or equivalent required (MSME is a plus)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Applied Science
- 5+ years related experience
- Background in engineering technical disciplines that include vibration, acoustics, heat transfer, stress, fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, and controls
- Must be a hands-on engineer with mechanical fabrication experience and understanding of basic electronics
- Knowledge of lab practices using pressure transducers, temperature transducers, flow meters, accelerometers, microphones, and other vibration or noise measuring instruments
- Possesses experience in high speed and high temperature instrumentation and/or practical experience in diesel engine performance/emissions
- Must possess excellent communication skills with ability to lead meetings and direct resources
- Proficient in the use of hand gages to include micrometers, calipers, indicators, and other related equipment
- Ability to lead projects from conception to closure with minimal supervision
- Ability to carry out multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
- Ability to use ProE/CAD tools to model test fixtures and equipment would be a plus
- Experience in statistical data analysis software (e.g. Minitab) would be a plus
- Spanish is a plus

Salary Range:
$100,800 - $141,750
