Role Overview

The Senior Network Engineer (AMER) is a senior hands-on engineering role responsible for the design, build, deployment, and effective operation of network infrastructure and network security services across the AMERICAS region. The position will serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) and enterprise routing and switching, while providing strong engineering capability for Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewalls (NGFW). The engineer will own complex technical delivery and troubleshooting across data center, campus, WAN, Internet, cloud connectivity, and network security environments. The role also leads complex incidents, produces designs and implementation plans, collaborates across regional and global teams, mentors other engineers, and serves as an escalation point for complex network and network security issues. Success is measured through service availability and stability, incident resolution effectiveness, change quality, compliance with standards and controls, delivery against requirements and timeframes, and documentation and mentoring effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the AMER technical SME for Cisco ACI, including fabric architecture, APIC operations, tenants, VRFs, bridge domains, EPGs, contracts, L3Outs, external connectivity, fabric upgrades, troubleshooting, and operational lifecycle management.
• Provide advanced engineering and escalation support for Cisco routing and switching across data center, campus, branch, and WAN environments, including IOS/IOS-XE/NX-OS platforms and BGP/OSPF routing.
• Engineer, configure, troubleshoot, and support Palo Alto Networks NGFW platforms, including security and NAT policy, zones, routing, high availability, Panorama-managed environments, upgrades, logging, and operational troubleshooting.
• Design and implement complex, standards-aligned network and network security changes with clear implementation, validation, and rollback plans.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of high-severity incidents and complex performance or connectivity problems within SLA, acting as a senior escalation point for other engineers and support teams.
• Proactively monitor and maintain the network, delivering network as a service to TMHCC business units.
• Champion and adhere to global architecture, engineering standards, processes, security controls, and change governance.
• Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation, including high-level and low-level designs, diagrams, standards, operational procedures, implementation plans, and asset records.
• Participate actively in network engineering design, project review, and governance forums; provide technical input and challenge where appropriate.
• Work closely with global Network Services, Security, Infrastructure, Cloud, and application teams to deliver resilient end-to-end solutions.
• Contribute to network automation, standardization, observability, lifecycle management, and continuous operational improvement.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, knowledge transfer, and mentoring to network engineers and operational support resources.
