About the role
As a Senior .NET Developer, you will make an impact by designing, developing, and enhancing scalable applications using .NET Framework and .NET Core technologies. You will be a valued member of the application development team, working collaboratively with technical teams and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions.
In this role, you will:
• Design, develop, and maintain applications using .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, and ASP.NET Core Web API.
• Build secure, scalable, and high-performing application components aligned with business and technical requirements.
• Develop and integrate solutions using Sybase or SQL Server, with exposure to MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Redis.
• Participate in code reviews, version control, automated builds, and deployments using Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Use AI-assisted development tools, including GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, or Windsurf, to improve development efficiency and code quality.

Based on this role's business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Norfolk, VA. What you need to have to be considered
• 10 or more years of software development experience using .NET Framework and .NET Core.
• Hands-on experience with ASP.NET MVC, ASP.NET Core, and Web API development.
• Experience working with Sybase or SQL Server databases.
• Proficiency in Git version control and experience working with CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience using GitHub Copilot or a comparable AI-assisted coding tool.
This will help you stand out
• Familiarity with MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Redis.
• Knowledge of Angular and modern front-end development practices.
• Experience using AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or Windsurf.
• Familiarity with specification-driven development practices.
Salary and Other Compensation:
The annual salary for this position is between $65,447 to $117,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
