Pay: $205,000- $225,000 + bonus
Role Overview:To lead Uniphar Development's program management and planning activities. The Senior Director of Program Management and Planning (PMP) is responsible for developing and implementing long-term strategies for program management across the company. The Senior Director of PMP is responsible for establishing program management policies and procedures to align with corporate and partner strategic direction. Serves as a Line Manager for Program Managers and other program management personnel. The Senior Director of PMP also serves as a Program Manager and assists Partners with their drug development programs.
Key Responsibilities:- Develops and implements standard "best practices" procedures, processes, and guidelines for program/project management.
- Serves as advisor to other project management staff; provides project management training.
- Assigns project work and reviews workload for all direct reports. Supervises staff by assisting them with their responsibilities, when necessary, by establishing goals that will increase knowledge and skill levels, and by delegating tasks commensurate with skill level.
- Serves as a project manager of large, long-term, complex projects.
- Monitors and coordinates the efforts of project teams, and day-to-day operations.
- Oversees multiple functional areas and vendors involved in a project.
- Forecasts budgets (actual vs. projected) on a periodic basis that includes information provided by vendors.
- Contributes to contract and budget re-negotiation efforts. Manages changes in scope on contracts as necessary.
- Tracks the contractual and financial project progress against contract milestones or completed units.
- Prepares, maintains, and manages the master integrated timeline for a program or study.
- Forecasts changes to timelines and assesses their impact on program/study deliverables.
- Performs risk analysis of projects/programs and engages program team proactively to develop solutions to minimize program risks
- Working knowledge of CAPA process to bring a project back on schedule and on budget.
- Provides progress reports to senior management and Partners.
- Interacts with all functional areas to assure there are adequate resources available as needed for all components of a project.
- Recommends course of action on human resource matters, including hiring, terminations, training, performance appraisals, and position description preparation.
- May perform other duties as assigned by Uniphar Development Senior Management.
Qualifications:- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent and 15 years or more of work experience in biotech, pharmaceutical or clinical or research organization industries.
- 10 years or more project management experience, which demonstrates program management success in a leadership role, and advanced skills including but not limited to communication skills, planning, organization, and business knowledge.
- 5 years or more of line management experience is required.
Organizational Relationships- DIRECT REPORTS: 0-5+ individuals
- Frequent interaction with internal and external staff, and Uniphar Development Senior Management.
- Frequent interactions with internal and external groups as a project management representative.
- Interactions concerning contract and budget re-negotiations
Physical Requirements:Position requires substantial use of telephone and face-to-face interactions, which require accurate perception of speech. Position also requires extensive computer usage involving repetitive motions with fingers. Willingness to travel up to 20%, depending on assigned responsibilities.
