Job Details
We are looking for a Senior Director of Product Strategy and Operations to serve as a strategic partner to product, engineering, and executive leadership — driving the operating cadence, strategic planning, and cross-functional execution that turns our product vision into measurable business outcomes. This role blends the rigor of a chief-of-staff function with the analytical depth of a strategy team and the execution discipline of a PMO. You will sit at the intersection of product, engineering, finance, and go-to-market teams — translating ambiguity into structured plans, identifying whitespace and risk, and building the systems that enable growth at scale without losing speed. This is a highly visible role with direct exposure to senior/executive leadership, reporting directly to MuleSoft’s COO.
What You'll Do
Strategy & Planning
- Prepare executive-level narratives, decks, and business reviews that distill complex, ambiguous data into clear recommendations.
- Serve as a key liaison between Product, Finance and GTM team on topics like forecasting and resource allocation.
- Partner with the GM/VP Product staff to define product strategy and GTM.
- Conduct market, competitive, and customer research (e.g., benchmarking against comparable SaaS platforms) to identify growth opportunities, threats, and whitespace.
- Build and maintain the business case / ROI framework used to prioritize the product roadmap and major bets (new products, M&A integration, platform investments).
Operations & Execution
- Design and run governance processes (roadmap councils, launch readiness, prioritization frameworks like RICE/WSJF) that scale decision-making across dozens of product teams.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Design, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success leaders to remove cross-functional blockers and drive alignment on major initiatives and launches.
- Track and report on key product and business metrics (adoption, NRR, pipeline influence, consumption, NPS) to leadership and the board; build the analytics infrastructure to support self-serve insight.
Organizational Leadership
- Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the COO and GM.
- Function as a strategic operational proxy to leadership, managing key stakeholders, orchestrating complex processes, problem solving, and driving prioritization of new activities.
- Drive change management for major organizational shifts (reorgs, new planning models, M&A integration, tooling rollouts).
Who You Are
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in product strategy, product operations, management consulting, or a related strategic/operational role, with 3+ years in enterprise SaaS or cloud software.
- Demonstrated ability to lead through influence at scale.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills — comfortable with market sizing, financial modeling, pricing/packaging analysis, and data-driven storytelling.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience creating executive-level materials.
- Experienced in proactively identifying challenges, and developing creative solutions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate in ambiguity, drive alignment across senior stakeholders, and manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience required. Master's degree (MBA) a plus.
