Job SummaryAs the Senior Director of Dining Services, you'll lead a large, dynamic corporate dining operation overseeing four retail outlets, pantry operations, two salaried managers, and approximately 50 hourly union associates. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an experienced foodservice professional who can drive operational excellence, develop strong teams, and serve as a trusted partner to the client.
The operation is typically Monday through Friday, with hours of operation from 7:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., offering the opportunity to lead a complex, high-volume program in a primarily weekday environment.
The Senior Director of Dining Services is responsible for the overall success of the account, including daily operations, team leadership, client relationships, financial performance, talent development, and service excellence. This role requires a forward-thinking, proactive leader who can confidently serve as the face of the operation while developing a strong management team and maintaining exceptional standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide overall leadership for four retail dining outlets and pantry operations.
- Lead and develop 2 salaried manager direct reports and approximately 50 hourly union associates.
- Oversee daily foodservice operations with a focus on quality, hospitality, efficiency, and consistency.
- Serve as the primary client partner and maintain strong relationships across departments.
- Manage account profitability, P&L, budgeting, purchasing, inventory, labor, and cost controls.
- Ensure food quality, presentation, and service consistently meet high standards.
- Recruit, coach, mentor, and develop management and hourly teams.
- Direct safety, sanitation, food safety, and facility maintenance programs.
- Identify opportunities to improve the guest experience, operational performance, and financial results.
- Foster strong relationships between culinary, operations, pantry, retail, and client teams.
- Bring a proactive, forward-thinking approach to continuously improving the dining program.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- 5+ years of proven leadership experience.
- 2-4+ years of direct foodservice operational management experience.
- Experience leading large teams and multiple managers in a complex foodservice environment.
- Experience managing union associates strongly preferred.
- Multi-outlet, retail dining, corporate dining, or high-volume foodservice experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of P&L, budgets, purchasing, inventory, labor, and cost controls.
- Strong understanding of food and catering trends, production, sanitation, presentation, and quality.
- Contract-managed foodservice experience desirable.
- Exceptional client relationship, communication, and leadership skills.
- Forward-thinking, proactive, polished, and comfortable being the face of a high-profile operation.
- ServSafe certification preferred.
