We are seeking a Senior Director FP&A to lead financial planning, strategic business finance, and decision support across a rapidly scaling Series C AgTech company.
This is a highly visible, finance leadership role responsible for building and leading the FP&A function while serving as a strategic partner to the executive team and functional leaders. The business operates across physical sites which include operations, engineering, R&D, commercial and general business functions, creating a uniquely complex financial environment that requires both strategic thinking and strong operational understanding.
The ideal candidate is a strategic driver and decisive business partner who acts as a proactive capital driver – rather than a conservative gatekeeper – to accelerate Oishii’s technology breakthroughs at maximum speed. You will connect financial performance to company strategy, challenge assumptions, and co-create agile financial paths ('how') with engineering and operational leaders to maintain development velocity while scaling the business.
The role will oversee financial planning and forecasting across U.S. and Japan entities, while partnering closely with Accounting to maintain strong financial controls, reporting discipline, and scalable processes as the company continues to grow.
What you’ll be responsible for:
- Own the company’s global FP&A function, including annual planning, budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, and financial modeling, translating company strategy into actionable financial plans and agile capital allocation that accelerates Oishii’s technology breakthroughs.
- Drive financial and operational performance through department-level budgeting, KPI development, forecasting, and variance analysis, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, profitability, and capital allocation while actively supporting business and technical velocity.
- Serve as a strategic finance partner to Operations, Engineering, R&D, Commercial, and Corporate functions, acting as an unbiased, central navigator to constructively resolve natural frictions and competing priorities across our end-to-end internal value chain.
- Partner closely with Accounting to ensure strong financial controls, reporting, close processes, and financial governance across U.S. and global entities.
- Lead financial planning and performance management across multiple entities and geographies, building scalable processes that support continued growth.
- Provide executive leadership and the Board with forward-looking financial analysis, business insights, risks, opportunities, and recommendations.
- Bring a strong, independent point of view to strategic decisions, challenge assumptions, and help leadership co-create creative financial pathways (finding the 'how' rather than giving a flat 'no') to navigate complex trade-offs.
- Build the financial discipline, visibility, and infrastructure needed to support a rapidly scaling Series C company with complex physical operations, engineering, R&D, and commercial functions.
What we look for in a Senior Director of FP&A:
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
- 12+ years of progressive finance experience, with significant depth in FP&A department management, strategic business finance, and capital allocation in complex environments.
- Operated hands-on at the Senior Director, or equivalent enterprise finance leadership level, preferably during rapid scale-up phases.
- Proven track record of managing and resolving financial frictions across an end-to-end value chain, demonstrating the ability to balance competing priorities between R&D/Engineering, physical operations (COGS), and Commercial teams.
- Owned and managed financial planning across U.S. and global entities (experience bridging U.S. and Japan operations is a strong plus).
- A "how-to-enable" strategic partnering mindset, with a demonstrated ability to constructively challenge executive assumptions and co-create agile financial pathways to accelerate business and technical velocity.
- Demonstrated experience partnering closely with executive leadership (CEO, CFO) and the Board of Directors to guide major strategic and investment decisions.
- CPA strongly preferred, particularly for candidates with meaningful accounting, controls, and financial governance experience.
- Industry domain knowledge in deeptech, advanced manufacturing, hardware, robotics, CPG, agricultural tech, or other capital-intensive industries with physical operations is a plus, but not required. We also welcome candidates from SaaS or other sectors who demonstrate the ability to quickly understand complex physical supply chains and Capex-heavy business models.
