Position Summary
The Senior Developer - SQL and Mendix will be responsible for designing, developing, optimizing, and supporting database solutions, data integration pipelines, ETL processes, and low-code application components that support TRS business operations and enterprise systems.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server, IBM i DB2, Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL, SSIS, data migration, data bridging, and production deployment processes. The role requires strong technical expertise in T-SQL development, performance tuning, indexing strategies, enterprise application integration, and data integration across complex systems.
The Senior Developer will work closely with application development teams, production support teams, database teams, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-performing data solutions across development, test, and production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data integration pipelines across enterprise applications using IBM i DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL database systems.
- Operationalize data integration pipelines and govern their operational aspects, including monitoring, reliability, performance, error handling, and ongoing maintenance.
- Design, develop, and maintain T-SQL scripts, stored procedures, functions, and views to support business processes, application functionality, and data operations.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries that operate on large production datasets, ensuring accuracy, reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Develop, maintain, and support Microsoft SSIS packages for ETL processes, including source-to-target data flows, staging, transformations, logging, error handling, and incremental data loads.
- Design and implement indexing strategies for high-volume transaction tables, including clustered indexes, nonclustered indexes, filtered indexes, indexed views, and partitioning recommendations.
- Monitor and tune database performance using execution plans, statistics, query optimization techniques, parameter sniffing mitigation, and index maintenance practices.
- Support data migration and data bridging activities across enterprise systems, including forward and backward bridging of data.
- Collaborate with application development teams to translate business and application requirements into reliable database objects, integration processes, and deployment-ready SQL artifacts.
- Support deployments of SQL scripts, database objects, and SSIS packages across lower environments and production, including deployment validation and rollback planning.
- Work with Sagitec's Neospin Framework to develop, support, and optimize SQL components that integrate with .NET-based pension systems.
- Work with the Mendix platform to develop, support, and optimize platform components that integrate with Mendix-based pension systems.
- Create and support data models, data sources, and analytical reporting solutions using Tableau.
- Contribute to repeatable deployment processes, environment promotion, change control, production readiness, and operational documentation.

Qualifications
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
2. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full-time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems; or
3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above.
