Location: New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Charlotte, Hartford or Boston.

The opportunity

Our actuarial advisers combine technical depth, business judgment and creative thinking to help clients address complex challenges and pursue growth. As a Senior Consultant, you be right at the heart of that mission, directly with clients and starting to build your personal brand as a leader in your field

Your key responsibilities

It's all about providing the knowledge our clients need to execute strategies and resolve complex issues. We'll look to you to play significant roles in client engagement teams in our practice, in a wide variety of projects including:

  • Product strategy and innovation

  • Model development and optimization

  • Actuarial transformation

  • Mergers and Acquisitions

  • Reinsurance and capital optimization

  • Financial and regulatory reporting

  • Assurance

  • Enterprise strategy


To qualify for the role, you must have
  • A bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, Economics, or another related quantitative major
  • Approximately 3+ years of relevant life/annuity actuarial experience (consulting, carrier, or reinsurer)
    • Meaningful progress toward Society of Actuaries credentials (ASA or advanced ASA candidacy)

    • Exposure to U.S. Life, Health, and Annuity products, including prominent features, product dynamics, and key actuarial considerations

    • Familiarity with U.S. statutory, GAAP, and tax reporting frameworks, and awareness of emerging regulatory developments (such as VM-22, Bermuda EBS, LDTI, IFRS 17)

    • Working knowledge of at least one core life actuarial discipline (e.g., actuarial transformation and modeling, reinsurance and strategy, capital solutions, profitability management, financial reporting, actuarial audit, regulatory advisory, or business transformation)

    • Familiar with at least one prominent actuarial modeling software platforms, including but not limited to: Moodys GGY AXIS, FIS Prophet, Milliman ALFA/Integrate, Aon Benfield PathWise, Slope, PolySystems, among others.

    • Strong writing, presentation, conceptual, analytical, project management, and interpersonal skills

    • A proven ability to manage time while working on multiple, often shifting, projects, and the confidence to work both collaboratively and independently under pressure

    • Willingness and ability to travel to meet client needs

Ideally, you'll also have

  • Familiarity with actuarial model development activities, including solution design, translation of business requirements, model staging, data preparation and automation, assumption management, and model change / testing lifecycle

  • Experience with reinsurance concepts, capital solutions, and profitability management considerations

  • Experience with actuarial audit approaches, and quality review processes

  • Exposure to business transformation concepts, including operating model, process, or technology enablement

  • Experience with open-source coding paradigms such as Python, R, Julia, others, and familiarity with emerging technologies (e.g., AI/GenAI) applied to actuarial work

  • Experience with long-term care or other health and protection products, including modeling, reserving, assumption development, financial reporting, or audit and assurance.

  • Consulting mindset with structured problem solving, executive communication skills, and the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable business insights

  • Project management experience and ability to handle teams and multiple stakeholders

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $110,500 to $202,700. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $132,600 to $230,400. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
