What you’ll be doing As part of the Enterprise Anti-Money Laundering (EAML) group, you will support our strategic journey toward realizing our vision of becoming a leading Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorist Financing, and Sanctions Program—safeguarding our clients’ ambitions. Guided by the principles of client focus, business innovation, and process simplification, you will leverage your process engineering expertise to lead EAML process improvement initiatives. Your responsibilities will include analyzing, planning, developing, testing, and implementing these initiatives.
Additionally, you will provide consultation on process designs for EAML projects with significant process components. As an advocate for continuous improvement and simplification across the business, you will recommend enhancements to the EAML Leadership team by seeking input from users, conducting proactive research, and collaborating closely with stakeholders to identify new solutions that improve AML systems and processes. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 2-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote. How you’ll succeed
  • Process Optimization & Change Management - Utilizing process engineering methodologies , you will conduct process assessments to identify improvement opportunities. You will Use advanced statistical analysis and data-driven problem solving to identify and address root causes of inefficiencies. Recommend solutions that positively impact productivity, and develop control plans for sustained changes. You will Drive change management efforts related to new processes, tools, and tracking systems to ensure smooth adoption and minimal disruption for teams. Provide regular updates and recommendations to leadership regarding progress, challenges, and opportunities related to process optimization.
  • Project Management - Track project progress and guide projects to successful completion. Provide management with project status updates, feedback, and appropriate reporting on key process-focused objectives. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in alignment with annual productivity targets.
  • Problem Solving - Develop creative solutions and new ways of thinking about issues and opportunities. Apply structured problem-solving methodologies to diagnose root causes and design effective, sustainable solutions that address both immediate and systemic challenges.
  • Expected Benefits Realization – Evaluate, assess, and support process owners in achieving and realizing the anticipated benefits of process improvement initiatives, including improvements in process speed, enhancing quality, risk mitigations, and capacity reliefs.
  • Interpersonal Relations – Demonstrate excellent communication skills and communicate clearly and concisely to partners at all levels of the organization. Use various strategies to influence others and build strong support for process improvement recommendations. Act as a trusted business partner with key functional leaders, fostering collaborative relationships that enable the delivery of tangible business results.
Who you are
  • You have at least 3 years of hands-on experience leading process engineering/process improvement initiatives, preferably in financial services or regulatory environments. It's an asset if you have:
    • Valid Green/Black Belt certification from recognized institutes is an asset.
    • Experience with AI enablement, and automation tools is an asset.
    • Knowledge of AML regulations, practices, economic sanctions, and related regulatory compliance is an asset.
