Full Job Description
*Team*

Reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, Consolidation, Tax & Treasury in Europe, the Financial Controller is a high-impact, individual contributor role designed for a "Super IC." You will be the credible face of Finance for our US operations, responsible for building the infrastructure that allows us to scale our North American footprint with rigour and efficiency.

This isn't a "maintenance" role. You are joining at a pivotal moment following a private equity backed merger to consolidate and institutionalize our US financial operations. You will have total ownership over US accounting, statutory reporting, and tax compliance, while playing a key role in our global ERP & Finance tech-stack transformation.

*Missions*
  • Financial Operations & Reporting: Oversee all US financial operations including managing statutory reporting & local filings with our local accounting firms along with US GAAP technical accounting and reconciliations between US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Global Collaboration: Act as the primary liaison between the US businesses and our European Accounting and Controlling teams in France, Poland and Switzerland. You will participate in the global close and shareholder reporting and be the local subject matter expert on US issues.
  • Audit & Control: Manage the US portion of the global audit, ensuring all local documentation is robust and meets scrutiny, and lead adoption of new controls and process improvements as we scale up our Finance processes globally.
  • Systems & Projects: Serve as the US lead for our planned ERP implementation along with other finance tools, ensuring our US localization requirements are represented and processes flow seamlessly into the global reporting engine.
  • Tax Strategic Ownership: Own the end-to-end US Sales Tax project. Working closely with our external advisors, you will help to design & ultimately lead the implementation and group-wide rollout of Avalara or similar tools, ensuring Nexus compliance across all required states as we expand into new jurisdictions.
  • US Business Partnering: Support our Sales & RevOps teams by acting as the local point of escalation for US Sales teams, providing technical guidance on deal desk queries and contract compliance from a finance perspective.

*Skills*
  • Qualifications: CPA or equivalent professional accounting status is required.
  • Technical Expertise: US GAAP expertise is essential, IFRS is a plus. Exposure to US Sales Tax (Nexus) and experience with Avalara or similar tools, along with experience of ERP implementation are strongly preferred.
  • Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting or financial controlling, preferably including experience of SaaS.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills with the ability to navigate the cultural nuances of an international organization.
  • Style: You thrive as a "one-person" subject matter expert, enjoying the balance of deep technical work (Accounting/Tax), operational support to the business, and bringing strategic direction to ERP & tooling projects.
