The Senior Client Executive is the primary strategic advisor and relationship owner for a portfolio of captive clients. This is a senior, client-facing role responsible for retention and superior service delivery across complex single-parent and alternative risk programs, serving as a trusted advisor to client executive leadership on captive strategy, capital, and program utilization. The Senior Client Executive leads the service relationship for assigned accounts, directs the work of Captive Advisors and Analysts supporting those accounts, and works closely with the captive management team, Financial Analysts, Brokers and Underwriters, Sales and Production staff, and Company leadership. The role also partners closely with HUB Alternative Risk Solutions, which provides technical support and oversight on structuring, feasibility, and collateral matters to ensure client programs remain strategically sound and competitively positioned.
In this role, you will:
• Serve as the primary strategic advisor to client CFOs, Treasurers, Risk Managers, and executive leadership across an assigned portfolio of captive clients, with lead accountability for client retention and satisfaction
• Lead client board of director and annual meetings, including the development and presentation of strategic financial and operational materials
• Provide guidance on capital optimization, risk retention strategy, program utilization, and future-state expansion opportunities
• Lead and coordinate all phases of captive engagements for assigned accounts, ensuring seamless execution, timely delivery, and adherence to quality standards
• Develop and manage project data-request lists and rigorously review information received for completeness and accuracy
• Own the overall service relationship for assigned accounts, directing the work of Captive Advisors and Analysts and coordinating with the captive management team to ensure superior service and communication to clients and brokers/producers
• Create, review, and present senior client deliverables, including proposals, stewardship reports, and board and annual meeting documents
• Interact with clients and prospects to guide and assist in implementing and managing alternative risk insurance programs
• Review and present financial statements in partnership with the Financial Analyst and captive management team
• Conduct in-depth analysis of insurance programs to assess profitability and risk exposure by evaluating premium and loss history data
• Lead risk pricing and premium allocation for assigned programs, overseeing delivery and leveraging actuarial insights from the actuary and Financial Analyst team
• Review policies and reinsurance contracts and provide data- and needs-based consulting to clients throughout the policy year
• Discuss and present renewals; oversee placement of business with carriers and reinsurers
• Maintain relationships with service providers including insurance brokerage teams, claims administrators, carriers/reinsurers, and reinsurance brokers
• Promptly respond to all client and broker/producer inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner; proactive, professional communication is expected
• Identify opportunities to expand and enhance services with existing captive clients through proactive performance monitoring and program recommendations
• Mentor and provide day-to-day direction to Captive Advisors, reviewing their work product and supporting their development
• Participate in and lead department meetings as needed
• Attend client meetings and travel domestically and internationally as needed (approximately 15-20%)
What you offer us:
• Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management
• 8+ years of experience in Property & Casualty insurance, with meaningful experience in captive insurance or alternative risk transfer
• Property & Casualty Producer's License
• ARM, ACI, or CPCU designation strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to own senior client relationships and lead a service team
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to learn new systems as introduced, including AI tools such as Claude
• Superior communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate technical insurance and financial concepts into clear, actionable insights
• Ability to multi-task and interact in a professional manner with clients and colleagues
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good problem-solving skills and the ability to make the necessary decisions to move the work at hand forward
