SENIOR BACKEND JAVA DEVELOPER (GRAPH & NoSQL DATABASE EXPERIENCE)

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Backend Java Developer with deep expertise in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications in AWS cloud environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong backend development skills using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and GraphQL, along with extensive experience working with NoSQL and graph database technologies. This role requires a seasoned individual contributor who can architect scalable solutions, drive technical excellence, mentor team members, and deliver high-performance cloud-native applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing enterprise applications using Java and AWS cloud services.
• Build and enhance backend services using Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, and GraphQL.
• Architect and implement enterprise-grade solutions that meet quality, reliability, performance, and business requirements.
• Analyze complex technical challenges and apply independent judgment to develop effective solutions.
• Identify risks and proactively address issues that may impact project or business objectives.
• Stay current with software engineering trends, industry best practices, and emerging technologies, providing recommendations for adoption where appropriate.
• Collaborate across engineering and cross-functional teams to resolve technical barriers and achieve shared objectives.
• Mentor and support junior developers through coaching, knowledge sharing, and technical guidance.
• Ensure high-quality deliverables through adherence to coding standards, testing practices, and code reviews.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, tools, and team efficiency.
• Support the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
• Develop and maintain cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services and modern microservices architectures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in Java development and related technologies.
• Strong expertise in Java application development and object-oriented programming principles.
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and GraphQL.
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra.
• Experience with graph databases such as Neo4j or Amazon Neptune.
• Strong understanding of backend development, distributed systems, and microservices architecture.
• Proven experience designing scalable, enterprise-grade applications and system architectures.
• Experience working with data storage technologies, including:

- Relational Databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL)

- NoSQL Databases (MongoDB, Cassandra)

- Graph Databases (Neo4j, Amazon Neptune)
• Strong cloud experience with AWS services, including:

- Lambda

- Step Functions

- SQS

- SNS

- S3

- ECS

- Fargate

- Aurora
• Experience implementing and supporting CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong knowledge of performance tuning, optimization, and application scalability.
• Experience with software security best practices and secure application development.
• Expertise in test automation, unit testing, and quality assurance methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with Python development and scripting.
• Experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging systems.
• Familiarity with large-scale document and metadata ingestion, processing, and persistence platforms.
• Experience leading technical initiatives and influencing architectural decisions across teams.
