Summary:

In this role, you will independently manage complex data intake, validation, and quality operations supporting Vizient's Procedural Analytics (PA) product. You will analyze and validate hospital-based clinical, supply, and physician data from multiple Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Vizient standards. You will collaborate with clients and internal partners to support implementations, resolve escalated data issues, and deliver high-quality analytic outputs. You will lead moderately complex projects, contribute to process improvements, and support enhancements to methodologies and training.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute complex procedural data implementations, including file intake, data mapping, normalization, and processing across multiple EMR-sourced datasets.
  • Perform advanced manual and automated data validation to identify mapping discrepancies, missing elements, integrity issues, and compliance gaps.
  • Ensure hospital submissions meet Vizient data quality standards across intake requirements, processing systems, and analytic outputs.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for complex data issues, guiding members and internal teams through root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Diagnose and resolve ongoing submission issues, including intake failures, mapping errors, and data quality exceptions, coordinating solutions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor processing systems to confirm accurate data loading, availability, and readiness in PA tools.
  • Support development, testing, and rollout of new workflows, tools, and validation enhancements to improve data quality and efficiency.
  • Deliver customized analyses using structured and unstructured datasets to support PA benchmarking and insights.
  • Research and evaluate data sources, validation techniques, and best practices to continuously strengthen analytic and quality methodologies.
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable recommendations for internal teams and member stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted data advisor to members, providing guidance on methodology, data interpretation, and submission requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and cross-functional partners to manage expectations and resolve data-related challenges.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to training materials that support standardized data intake, validation, and submission processes.
  • Mentor junior associates on procedural data concepts, validation approaches, and effective troubleshooting techniques.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Strong SQL and Databricks skills, including querying complex relational databases and data troubleshooting required.
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience working with large, complex datasets using spreadsheet and data tools required.
  • Advanced, hands-on Excel skills required; candidates must be comfortable using LOOKUP functions, pivot tables, charts, and graphs on a daily basis.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a high-volume operational environment required.
  • Clinical or perioperative background, including surgical nursing or equivalent experience, highly preferred.
  • Experience with perioperative data, OR workflows, surgical supplies, and preference cards preferred.
  • Experience with EMR systems such as Epic OpTime or Cerner SurgiNet preferred.
  • Experience supporting healthcare analytics platforms or benchmarking tools preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients.
