Focusing on Monument, this is a senior level role to:
-Ownership of lab instrumentations and test methods
-Ensure accuracy of laboratory data
-Perform non-routine analyses
-Serve as liaison to other departments in the plant and with customers
-This role will use process/chemical/analytical knowledge, in-depth technical expertise and (plant) operations experience to identify, develop and implement optimum analytical technology in support of process and product performance.
-Provide analytical support to other departments and sites within Monument Chemical.
Essential Functions
- Reports To: Quality Leader/Lab Manager.
- Follow EH&S and Operating Discipline/Quality System procedures and practices.
- Lab instrumentation ownership. This includes new purchasing requests, installations, repairs, pms, record control, and associated method development.
- LIMS and lab server Administrator
- Daily raw data and LIMS review for production analyses
- Review flow sheets for specification accuracy.
- Setup profiles in LIMS
- Set up specifications from flow sheets into LIMS.
- Creation and ownership of lab test methods.
- Review and update test methods and standards sheets/ensure that these sheets are in the appropriate location
- Review production schedule and ensure lab is ready for analysis
- Laboratory department reviewer for MOC
- Handle certificate of analysis requests from supply chain
- Help troubleshoot plant and customer problems.
- Non-production analyses for customers.
- Provide assistance for R&D sample analysis if needed.
- Perform simple R&D experiments
- Responsible for Stability program of GMP products
- Crude reports for R&D
- Contribute value creation by continuous improvement of the analytical work processes and related tools and performance metrics.
- Instrument ownership, repair, standardization, and calibration
- Create in-house standards and maintain standard and reagent records
- Evaluate expiration dates on standards on a periodic basis to ensure no expired standards or reagents are in use.
- Purchasing laboratory supplies. (reagents, consumables, office supplies, etc)
- 3rd Party SAP focal point and SME
- Periodic C of A review for completion and accuracy (spot checks)
- Manage activities of laboratory assistant and provide back up.
- Sample shipments via FedEx or other carriers
- Ability to serve as back up for other Senior Analytical Chemist
- Assist with the training of new lab chemists while on days.
- Responsible for preparing round robin samples for analytical shift chemists and compiling the data.
- Help oversee the day to day activities in the analytical lab
- Back up Timesheet manager for hourly lab personnel.
- Lab vendors point of contact

Education Qualifications
- Required Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or a related field.
Experience Qualifications
- Required 5+ years Analytical lab experience
Licenses and Certifications
- 2 year IATA shipper certification. within 1-1/2 Yrs Required

- Must be able to wear appropriate PPE for tasks as required. FRC uniform, hard hat, safety toe work boots, respiratory protection, safety glasses, chemical googles, face shield, gloves etc.
