We are establishing a Data Management Services Function and Enterprise Data & Analytics capability to drive data governance, data quality, metadata management, analytics enablement, and trusted decision-making across the organization.

As the Senior Analyst, Data Governance, Policy & Practices, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and operationalizing the organization's Enterprise Data Governance Framework. You will be responsible for ensuring that data is managed as a strategic business asset through the establishment of policies, standards, controls, stewardship practices, governance processes, and enterprise metadata management capabilities.

This role serves as a bridge between business and technology teams, translating enterprise data strategy into practical, scalable, and measurable governance capabilities that improve data quality, accountability, compliance, discoverability, and business decision-making.

The successful candidate will thrive in an evolving environment, helping define governance capabilities, formalize processes, build sustainable data management practices, and operationalize Microsoft Purview as the enterprise platform for data governance, metadata management, business glossary, lineage, and data catalog capabilities.

What you will accomplish with us:

Data Governance & Policy Management
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Enterprise Data Governance Framework.
- Develop, maintain, and socialize data governance policies, standards, procedures, and guidelines.
- Support governance operating models, including Data Owner, Data Steward, and Data Custodian roles and responsibilities.
- Facilitate governance forums, working groups, and stakeholder meetings to drive decision-making and accountability.
- Monitor governance adoption and recommend process improvements to increase effectiveness and maturity.

Microsoft Purview Administration & Metadata Management
- Serve as the primary administrator and champion for Microsoft Purview.
- Configure and maintain Microsoft Purview assets, including the Data Catalog, Business Glossary, Data Map, classifications, and lineage.
- Partner with business stakeholders and Data Stewards to establish and maintain business terms, data definitions, ownership, and metadata standards.
- Promote data discoverability, transparency, and trust through effective use of Microsoft Purview.
- Support onboarding of new data sources and ensure metadata is captured and maintained appropriately.

Data Quality & Stewardship
- Partner with Data Stewards and Subject Matter Experts to identify critical data elements and data quality requirements.
- Support the development of data quality rules, controls, monitoring, and remediation processes.
- Assist in identifying, tracking, and resolving data quality and governance issues.
- Promote stewardship accountability and adoption of governance best practices across business areas.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management
- Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders to drive governance adoption.
- Deliver training, awareness sessions, and guidance on governance processes and Microsoft Purview capabilities.
- Act as a trusted advisor on data governance, metadata management, stewardship, and data quality best practices.
- Support organizational change management activities related to governance initiatives.

Governance Reporting & Continuous Improvement
- Track and report on governance KPIs, metadata completeness, stewardship participation, and data quality metrics.
- Support audit, compliance, privacy, and risk management activities as they relate to data governance.
- Identify opportunities to improve governance processes, controls, and Microsoft Purview adoption.

What You Bring to Our Team:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

- 5-8+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Metadata Management, or Data Quality.

- Hands-on experience implementing, administering, and operationalizing Microsoft Purview.

Strong understanding of:
- Data Governance
- Metadata Management

- Data Lineage
- Data Quality Management
- Data Stewardship

- Experience developing governance policies, standards, and controls.

- Experience working with business stakeholders, Data Stewards, and technical teams.

- Strong facilitation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

- Knowledge of SQL, data warehousing, and reporting environments.

Preferred
- Experience supporting a Data Governance Office or Center of Excellence.
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Services, and SQL Server.
- Familiarity with governance platforms such as Collibra, Alation, or Informatica Axon.
- DAMA-DMBOK knowledge or data governance certification.
- Experience in transportation, logistics, retail, or other data-intensive industries.

Compensation Information:
Base Salary: $95,000 - $105,000 annually
Supplemental Pay Types Include: Annual bonus
